NICOLETTE MASON
My mission was to create that feeling in my actual home, and strive to get that vacation level of relaxation and good sleep every night — not just on vacation! This goal influenced every decision — from our furniture choices, to linens, to the mattress, and for that part, we turned to Big Fig. Living With (and Treating) Chronic Migraine. ABOUT - NICOLETTE MASON My name is Nicolette. I’m a Los Angeles native who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. I’m a brand strategist & creative consultant, contributing fashion writer (contributing editor at Marie Claire from 2011-2016, with bylines at Glamour, Teen Vogue, Refinery29, Coveteur, Vogue Italia, and more), and pen this blog, where I share personalLIFESTYLE ARCHIVES

Back to School. September has always felt like a time of rebirth and renewal – even though it’s been a decade since I had my last official “back to school.”. This week marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year ( Rosh Hashanah ), NYFW, and, actually – a back-to-school, of sorts, for me, as I enter a start-up incubatorprogram for Premme.
SPRING BREAK
Spring Break - Nicolette Mason. A few weeks ago, I headed back out to the West Coast and my hometown of Los Angeles for the first time in a few months. When I decided to move back to New York full-time, I made myself a promise that I’d still try to get to LA every 4-6 weeks, but it turns out that was a little optimistic and ambitious! WHAT I LEARNED THROUGH DNA TESTING Since childhood, I was raised with a really strong sense of my heritage: my mother immigrated to the US from Iran (via the UK, where she attended university), and my dad immigrated from England, with a ton of pride in his English and Irish ancestry.NICOLETTE MASON

Saturn is kind of like a really, really intense personal trainer trying it’s best to make you grow tougher and stronger, forcing you to show up and push through. And I did. And it was hard. And there were points in that two+ year period (yes, most Saturn return periods last at least a couple of years, usually somewhere around 27-31 yearsold

HAIR TRANSFORMATIONS + RECOVERY Thanks to Pantene for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My hair is no stranger to a major makeover. Ever since my early teen years, I’ve done drastic changes to my hair...BEST. SLEEP. EVER
This is not an exaggeration: I’ve been having the best sleep of my life on my new Big Fig Mattress! I had one big vision for my new bedroom when I started planning my move and interior design scheme, and that was to create a bedroom suite that felt like a luxurious hotel experience. I wanted the space to feel calm and zen, for the room to have incredible energy, and to have that feeling of getting into a big, comfortable bed that feels like a cloud and that you wish you bed at home felt like. My mission was to create that feeling in my actual home, and strive to get that vacation level of relaxation and good sleep every night — not just on vacation! This goal influenced every decision — from our furniture choices, to linens, to the mattress, and for that part, we turned to Big Fig. LIVING WITH (AND TREATING) CHRONIC MIGRAINE Looking back on the last two decades since I first started experiencing migraines, I’m honestly in a bit of disbelief over how much of an impact Chronic Migraine has had on my daily life. And if that sounds a bit dramatic, I promise that, if anything, it’s a bit of an understatement when I look back and reflect on both the headache/migraine pain I was experiencing with my Chronic Migraine as well as the psychological anguish and anxiety that I had.PreviousNext
