Hiking nearby Mt Timbertop. On the way into the Flats, a walk to the top of Mt Timbertop is a well worth the effort. 4kms return, about two hours – steep most of the way. The bonus is that the return walk is downhill, though! Views across the valley and plains can be seen from a number of vantage points on the Mt timber top walk. It can take years to really get to know the country, many people planning a trip to Australia do not have the luxury of unlimited time, but a road trip can be done over about 12 weeks if LICOLA, JAMIESON & WOODS POINT. VICTORIAN HIGH COUNTRY Driving from Licola over the high country road to Jamieson, then down to Woods Point, we saw no other vehicles for the full 91km’s (about 4 hours drive). Being early in the season the road had not long been officially opened as it is closed due to snowfalls from the first weekend in June till the first weekend in November. BRYCE GORGE, VICTORIAN HIGH COUNTRY Bryce Gorge walk – 8km approx/2.5 hours return. Starting at the Howitt Road car park, 23.5 from the Arbuckle Junction there is a well-defined path that is an easy walk for under 2km’s to Pieman Falls. Another 50 meters and we had a great view of the falls, then returned to the main trail and walked the 2kms or so around the clifftops of

You have now stumbled into a travel social club for women. LAKES ENTRANCE TO MCKILLOPS BRIDGE Lakes Entrance to McKillops Bridge Drive Time (one-way): 2 hr 15 m/ 137 km. This drive is definitely at the top of the list of the most dangerous public roads in Australia. It is an incredible drive on an unmade public road (C611) through some of the most amazing mountain scenery in the state of Victoria. McKillops Road is sealed for some of CRADLE MOUNTAIN TASMANIA A superb walk in the national park is the Dove Lake Circuit walk. A 2-hour walk of 5.7km, on a well-made track and boardwalk. This is one of our favourite short walks in Tasmania. It is fairly easy walking and takes in the spectacular views towards the peak of Cradle Mountain and covers a variety of terrain for such a relatively short hike. LAKES ENTRANCE TO MCKILLOPS BRIDGE Lakes Entrance to McKillops Bridge Drive Time (one-way): 2 hr 15 m/ 137 km. This is one of our favourite short walks in Tasmania. It is fairly easy walking and takes in the spectacular views towards the peak of Cradle Mountain and covers a variety of terrain for such a relatively short hike.
