PAINT A WOODEN BOAT
Paint a wooden boat. Listed under Blog, Boats, Painting Posted Jan 11 2012. In 2007, I had the pleasure of reviving this 45 year-old Angelman wooden ketch. The boat’s mahogany hull, and spruce masts and bowsprit were stripped back to bare wood and restored to their former glory with high specification marine paint and traditionalmaterials.
PAINTING BETWEEN NARROW GAPS Painting between narrow gaps. Listed under Blog, Painting Posted Jan 28 2011. The usual approach to painting behind radiators, flush cisterns, pipes or gutters is to use a radiator roller – a slim 4” wide sleeve on the end of a long handle.. If you want to roller further behind an obstacle than a standard length handle allows, you can extend the handle by taping on a piece of dowel or thin CAN YOU PAINT ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT STRAIGHT ON WAXED This is my answer: You really can apply chalk paint straight over wax and it will stick. You can paint 2 coats of AS on any clean slippy slidy surface, then wax it with 2 or 3 sparing coats of AS soft wax, then buff it up when dry. Enjoy. Wax To add a bit of character and accentuate the grain, wax is one way forward, but see the limitations below. Wax A nice furniture wax will add a patina to the wood and is practical, to a point. The new colour was a beautiful grey and the original brass cabinetry really didn’t work, so I suggested spraying the handles silver to compliment the detailing in the curtains. RESTORE PVC AND BRING BACK THE WHITENESS Restore PVC. Another approach that we like, for several reasons, is to restore PVC. This is uPVC Restorer from Dutch brand Fluxaf, who have a super range of cleaning and stripping products for decorators. Fluxaf PVCu Restorer is quite a clever product, to put it mildly; tough on UV damage, quick and easy to use, and it rinses off safely in water. CAN YOU PAINT ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT STRAIGHT ON WAXED This is my answer: You really can apply chalk paint straight over wax and it will stick. You can paint 2 coats of AS on any clean slippy slidy surface, then wax it with 2 or 3 sparing coats of AS soft wax, then buff it up when dry. Enjoy.
