"NEW NETWORK FOUND" NOTIFICATIONS : SUPPORT SOLUTION. If you are receiving a notification from VIPRE that a New Network is found, VIPRE is just detecting your home internet connection. This is a perfectly normal message to get upon installing VIPRE, and you can click Trust Location to trust the connection. You may have to select Trust Location several times for this to complete. UNABLE TO REGISTER/ACTIVATE VIPRE : SUPPORT If your are unable to register and get a message 'VIPRE was unable to activate your copy of VIPRE', make sure that you have the right software installed: If your key starts with 411, make sure you have VIPRE Antivirus installed, otherwise click this link to install the appropriate software: How to install VIPRE; If your key starts with 405, make sure you have VIPRE Internet Security installed. HOW TO DISABLE EDGE PROTECTION : SUPPORT To Disable Edge Protection: 1. Click Manage, then click Antivirus . 2. Scroll to Edge Protection, and switch it off. Note: We recommend you switch Edge Protection back on when finished with that website. Start the VIPRE Business Site Service. VIPRE SERVICE IS NOT RUNNING : SUPPORT A prompt will appear asking to Remove or Repair VIPRE. Choose Repair. Click the Install button to begin the repair process. After the repair process, click Finish, then restart the computer if prompted. HOW TO UPGRADE TO VIPRE ENDPOINT SECURITY : SUPPORT Note: For the context of this article, the following terms apply: An UPDATE refers to moving from an older software version to a newer software version. For example, an update from VIPRE 7.5 > VIPRE 9.5. An UPGRADE refers to moving from one edition of VIPRE to a more enhanced edition. For example, an upgrade from VIPRE Antivirus Business > VIPRE Endpoint Security. HOW TO INSTALL THE VIPRE BUSINESS CONSOLE : SUPPORT The VIPRE Business Console is the central location for managing the various VIPRE Business Agents across a network. While responsible for all Reporting, Management, and Deployment functions, the Console itself does NOT provide any protection against malicious software. This means that a VIPRE Agent will need to be installed on the system hosting this Console if it's to be protected. TURN VIPRE FIREWALL ON/OFF : SUPPORT For troubleshooting purposes, you can turn off and on VIPRE Firewall temporatily following the steps below: Click the Manage tab. Click the Firewall section on the left panel. Click the On/Off switch until it displays On. If successful, the MyVIPRE page should INSTALL VIPRE ON YOUR MAC : SUPPORT Download the VIPRE installer to your Mac. 2. Double-click the downloaded .pkg file to begin installation. 3. On the Introduction screen, click Continue. 4. On the License screen, you’re presented with the End-User License Agreement. Click Continue. 5.Review thelicense agreement.
FIREWALL BLOCKS OR PREVENTS AN APPLICATION FROM When a device or network is trying to connect to your computer and connection cannot be established, it is likely caused by VIPRE firewall not recognizing the device, application or network that is trying to communicate to your computer therefore, blocking or preventing any access to your computer until an exception is made. this is normal behavior of the firewall doing its job.
