Built by a crew of more than 3,000 volunteers in 2015, it now welcomes visitors of all ages to play, dream and be inspired. The playground is surrounded by a smooth, rubber surface for safe and easy navigation, and TWILIGHT JAZZ SUMMER CONCERT SERIES Twilight Jazz is a free outdoor concert series sponsored by area businesses. It takes place on the south lawn of Anderson Arts Center, which is part of Kemper Center. OUTTA SIGHT KITE FLIGHT Enjoy professional kite flyers performing synchronized routines to music at the 19th annual 92.1 VTY Country Outta Sight Kite Flight Kite Festival. Miss Kenosha Alexandra Daher will sing the national anthem on June 5, followed by a grand launch of hundreds of kites at noon. Professional kite teams begin performing at 12:20 p.m. For the first time at this event, No Knots, a Quad kite flying SIMMONS ISLAND PARK AND BEACH This is a beach and park on the Lake Michigan shore. Featuring a boardwalk on the beach near a paved bike trail. There's a playground and an open air picnic pavilion in the park. Simmons Island Beach has become more accessible to people with disabilities, with the addition of portable mobility mats on the sand. The mats are designed to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. Following a name change, a new logo, and a website redesign, Visit Kenosha has now released its own merchandise line. Using a theme of Shop Local – Dine Local – Play Local, the organization has partnered with The Lettering Machine, a locally owned embroidery and screen printing shop in Downtown Kenosha, to produce a variety ofitems.
