NIGHT OF THE QUEER
Celebrating sexual diversity in all of its gender-bending glory – Night of the Queer returns to TAPAC for Auckland Pride with a brand new show set in an exotic garden of earthly delights. Featuring dazzling dance, extraordinary aerial artistry, sassy song, bold burlesque and diva-licious drag. IMPROVISATION (ADULTS 16+) Use theatre improvisation games to strengthen your acting and social skills, develop the tools to create characters and use the techniques of drama composition. This class is suitable for those with experience in performance as well as those who have never performed at all. The improvisation games in this class will foster your capacity to deal imaginatively with the unexpected.NIGHT OF THE QUEER
Journey into the shadows of a sexy world full of magick and mystery in this all-new version of the cult classic. Featuring dazzling dance, extraordinary aerial artistry, sassy song, bold burlesque, divine drag and a huge dose of comedy, Night of the Queer is a sublime queer cabaret that appeals to all colours of the rainbow SINGING & SONGWRITING (7-11 YEARS) This is a course for kids who love to sing and want to learn new skills for writing their own songs to perform You’ll learn the craft of writing songs by exploring song and chord structure and how harmony and melody coexist to support the idea behind a lyric. You’ll learn basic lyrical conventions such as metaphor, rhyme, assonance, oxymorons etc and will work on creating your own songsAU KO TUVALU
Written and directed by Tavita Nielsen-Mamea 'Au Ko Tuvalu' takes the audience to Tuvalu, the homeland of the world's first climate change refugees, now on its final day of evacuations Sitting just metres above sea level, the rising seas are dangerously lapping at the door step of three siblings, who must pack up their lives and flee to "NiuSila" Aotearoa.
STREET DANCE BATTLE HOLIDAY PROGRAMME (AGES 8+) Get locking, popping, breaking, waacking and invent your own killer moves as you go head-to-head in the ultimate street dance battle, led by the legendary Richie Cesan. Street dancing is an urban phenomenon that mashes up breaking, hip hop, locking, popping and house. THE AUCKLAND PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE TAPAC is releasing it's July Holiday Programmes soon! Here’s your chance! Filmmaker Stephen J. Campbell will show you how to write, shoot, direct, perform in and edit your very own music video You’ll join forces with other young creatives to choose a cool song that you want to make a video to. Over three days you’ll take turns trying different roles in front of and behind the camera. MAGICAL MUSIC HOLIDAY PROGRAMME (AGES 5-7) Discover the magic of music in this fun programme that explores movement and play, musical games, musical moods, rhythms, melody and pitch Children will explore musical moods through stories and they’ll discover how music can sound sad, happy, scary or exciting!MATARIKI GLOW SHOW
