Steady bubbling of air via rigid tubing to the base of the bottle. Shaken slightly each day to stir up the solution from the bottom. Split the culture after two or more weeks, saving half for your tank and half to start new bottles. Repeat forever.FRAGGING TOOLS
Fragging Tools. Fragging corals is a big part of the hobby. Being able to acquire frags from others has benefits. Corals are shared rather than the constant harvesting of wild colonies in the ocean, and they are already accustomed to dwelling in a closed ecosystem. The giver prunes the colonies in their reef, allowing for better flow. FEEDING SUNCORALS NIGHTLY Feeding the corals. First the food: mini mysis and cyclop eeze thaw out in a small bowl of tank water. The pipettes are those small ones that come with a refractometer. Once thawed, I turn off the feed to my suncoral tank, and then squirt a small puff of food over each polypevery gently.
DISTICHOPORA CORAL
Distichopora are found only in the Pacific Ocean. There are 34 nominal species and an unknown number of true species. This genus has flattened, blunt ended branches which are uniform in size and also growing on one plane like the Stylaster. But unlike the Stylaster, there are no cyclosystems, and the gastrophores are aligned laterallyalong the
100GPD RODI INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Apply the foam to the inside of the saddle clamp that has the matching hole. Drill a 1/4" hole in the drain pipe. Insert the tubing through the nut and saddle clamp, enough to insert into the hole slightly. Insert the nuts into the slotted holes, then screw the clamp aroundthe drain pipe.
10 STEP PHYTOPLANKTON CULTURE STEP 10 - Feeding phyto and continuing the culture. Start with 1/4 cup once a day for a week, then after about a week go with 1/4 cup twice a day. I'm feeding 1/2 cup twice a day but how much you feed really depends on what critters you have eating it, i.e. clams, feather dusters, gorgonians, etc. GETTING NITRATES UNDER CONTROL A more gradual way is recommended. Example from my 55-gallon Reef : Make up 20 gallons of fresh saltwater in a trashcan in front of your tank. Drain 10 gallons of tank water into the 20 gallons of new water, and let that mix. Pump 10 gallons of that water back into your tank, and let the power heads mix that water up in your tank for a minute DIY: MAKE YOUR OWN SODA ASH CHEAPLY Set the timer for 60 minutes. Let it bake. No reason to open the oven during this process. Once the timer chimes, remove the pan and allow it to cool off. It should still be white. If you burned it and it turned brown, toss it out and make a new batch. Once cooled, transfer the soda ash into a storage container, like this disposable Ziplocone.

PROPER FEEDING METHODS Phytoplankton feeds soft corals, feather dusters, and clams, as well as the pod population in your tank & refugium. QUARANTINE & DIPS
New frag arrivals are treated in quarantine; if the entire system is infested, remove all shrimp and crabs prior to using Interceptor to kill red bugs weekly, for three weeks in a row. Done. Clams may be harmed by mollusc-eating flatworms, pyramidellid snails, and a particularly nasty worm. MAKE YOUR OWN FISHFOOD Feed 1/8th of the amount you should, then in two days feed 1/4 of the full amount, and two days later 1/2 the amount, and so on. Ramping up the dosing of this food prevents polluting the tank and allows the population and natural bacterial filtration to adjust to this newfeeding routine.

DIY OVERFLOW BOX (WEIR) To do the other side is a little more complicated, because you'll have to trace both parts onto that plastic, run two beads of glue and assemble it quickly. Give it a day to cure. Then test it in your sink. Fill water on both sides, stick a piece of airline tubing on the rigid piece, and suck the air out. PRODUCT REVIEW: REEFBRITE'S LUMILITE The Lumilite is a sealed LED fixture that comes with two adjustable legs. This size retails $60, and uses a small 24v power brick. Usually my sumps are 1" taller than the one I'm running now, and the salt spray has been a factor. I'd prefer that the light stay up a little higher to stay cleaner; I've had to wipe it down every couple of weeksto

Use a turkey baster to target feed with thawed mysis or similar foods. Always mix powdered foods in some RO water or tank water prior to pouring it into yourtank. Pour it
DISTICHOPORA CORAL
Distichopora are found only in the Pacific Ocean. There are 34 nominal species and an unknown number of true species. This genus has flattened, blunt ended branches which are uniform in size and also growing on one plane like the Stylaster. But unlike the Stylaster, there are no cyclosystems, and the gastrophores are aligned laterallyalong the
GETTING NITRATES UNDER CONTROL A more gradual way is recommended. Example from my 55-gallon Reef : Make up 20 gallons of fresh saltwater in a trashcan in front of your tank. Drain 10 gallons of tank water into the 20 gallons of new water, and let that mix. Pump 10 gallons of that water back into your tank, and let the power heads mix that water up in your tank for a minute FEEDING SUNCORALS NIGHTLY Feeding the corals. First the food: mini mysis and cyclop eeze thaw out in a small bowl of tank water. The pipettes are those small ones that come with a refractometer. Once thawed, I turn off the feed to my suncoral tank, and then squirt a small puff of food over each polypevery gently.
HOW I CLEAN FILTER SOCKS Grabbing a bottle of bleach from the utility room as well as a bottle of Prime for afterwards, I got started. I filled up the container with about 7 gallons of water, and poured in about 1 cup of bleach. All three socks were then immersed in the solution and left to soak forabout 30 minutes.

100GPD RODI INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Apply the foam to the inside of the saddle clamp that has the matching hole. FRAGGING TOOLS
10 STEP PHYTOPLANKTON CULTURE STEP 10 - Feeding phyto and continuing the culture. Start with 1/4 cup once a day for a week, then after about a week go with 1/4 cup twice a day. I'm feeding 1/2 cup twice a day but how much you feed really depends on what critters you have eating it, i.e. clams, feather dusters, gorgonians, etc.DOSING VODKA: WHY?
After heating up some acrylic, I secured the Vodka Drip Doser to the frame above my sump. 15ml syringe doser. Vodka & dosing cup. 1) Measure amount with syringe. 2) Fill drip doser. 3) Replacing the cap (avoid contamination) Drip doser full of vodka. Drip counter (verify drip rate) Pinch valve to__
