Gittens, District 5 Cathleen O'Daniel Morgan, District 7 SUNCOAST PARAPROFESSIONAL TO TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS An elementary and a middle school paraprofessional are the recipients of the 2021 Suncoast Paraprofessional to Teacher Scholarship. The Scholarships are for current paraprofessionals, interested in pursuing teaching, who have an associate degree and plan to attend Florida Gulf Coast University or Florida SouthWestern State College. JENNIFER ORTEGA NAMED 2021 NEW TEACHER OF THE YEAR Jennifer Ortega was surprised by Superintendent Dr. Greg Adkins this week with the 2021 New Teacher of the Year Award. Ortega teaches 7th grade reading at Lehigh Acres Middle School. SEVEN STUDENTS AWARDED NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS The School District is proud to announce seven students have been awarded National Merit Program Scholarships.
