They plan to have additional courses later in the year. November’s focused on legal processes for unaccompanied children. January’s two sessions covered citizenship for immigrant children and adjustment of status for refugees. JOB SEEKER CAREER SERVICES How We Help. JFCS STAFF ARE WORKING REMOTELY (AND SHARING SOME ADVICE While we are continuing to serve and support our clients and community, JFCS staff are working remotely, which means lots of time at home–including pets, kids, PJs, and home-brewed coffee! MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID Mental Health First Aid uses the acronym ALGEE to guide mental health first aiders in their response: Assess for risk of suicide or harm, Listen nonjudgmentally, Give reassurance and Information, Encourage appropriate professional help, and Encourage self-help and other support strategies. The first in-house JFCS training was held in June. JFCS CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER CAREER FAIR JFCS Career Development Center wrapped up another career fair on June 4 th, this time at the Millvale Community Center.Twenty-two employers and community resource organizations participated, including recruiters from Amazon, Giant Eagle, U.S. Steel, PNC, Waste Management and the PA Liquor Control Board.JFCS PITTSBURGH
