BEAVERTAIL BEACON DEEMED SURPLUS BY FEDS A drone photo last week captures a bird’s-eye view of a two-masted schooner sailing past Beavertail Lighthouse at the southernmost point of Conanciut Island. The lighthouse complex, situated on 7 acres, has been considered surplus by the federal government. With support from the town of Jamestown, the state is applying for ownership.
