ABOUT VP
Visualizing Palestine creates data-driven tools to advance a factual, rights-based narrative of the Palestinian-Israeli issue. Our researchers, designers, technologists, and communications specialists work in partnership with civil society actors to amplify their impact and promote justice and equality. Launched in 2012, VP is the first portfolio of Visualizing Impact (VI) an independent, non-profit laboratory for innovation at the intersection of data science, technology, and design. Adapting and developing open source technologies to apply to social justice movements is central to VP's approach. Since our brains are narratively and visually wired, design has the power to elevate data to a higher level of openness and accessibility. Most of the data VP uses is publicly available from credible international, national, and local human rights and civil society organizations. The research team also has the capability to scrape and analyze data using information technology tools.JOIN THE TEAM
