hey my dad owns a motorbike trials shop and we sell numerous models and from past experience id buy a 1996 beta or newer as in 1996 the trials market seemed to shoot up and the bikes improved a lot. also 1996 was the 1st year beta made the techno which was a new frame and engine etc. you can pick up 1996 betas for well under £1000 and a nearly new model of 1996 is only about £950 CAN HELICOILS BE SHORTENED? Yes, they can. Just screw them in as normally and then cut off the part of the helicoil that sticks out of the frame. Though you could always drill the holes 2mm deeper, because the longer the thread is,the better.
32H HUB ONTO 28H RIM Is it possible to lace a 28h try-all rim to a 32h echo tr hub, and if so how? Would ideally like to lace it 2x or 3x. Any help muchappreciated. Thanks
MARTIN HAWYES

ICE TECH ROTORS WITH HOPE'S? If you want to use that style of rotor I'd say the Shimano ones appear to be the best. I'm pretty keen on using them mainly because in a comparison from a 'solid' Saw rotor to the floating Saw rotor, there was a noticeable drop in noise from the rotors clanging around into the pads/caliper when you land spins and the like. CASSETTE LOCKRING THREAD SIZE @forteh as said, 1.37 x 24tpi is BSA BB's and screw on cassette/freewheel thread.. @monkeyseemonkeydo is correct in saying that a cassette lockring dia. is a larl bit smaller. @CurtisRider I had forgotten that. Still, the point of the exercise is to attempt to repair something that is otherwise shelf art, so a 7spd (or even smaller maybe) would be just fine. SHIN GUARDS
The reviews said they're very tight fitting, the padding on the front sticks out far too much and they're very hot. I generally use Sixsixone armour for DH and Enduro but want a slim fitting shin protector for trials. TUBELESS FOR TRIALS? Loving mine so far, not burped any air yet however I don't really feel I've pushed the limits of sideways landings yet. I'm pleased it's worked for you Ben I was hoping it wasn't just a fluke that I got mine to workDanny really struggled to get his to seal with Inspired rims, Spank seem to have a more aggressive "bead bite" system that holds onto the tire harder and creates a stronger sealEXTENTION HEIMDALL

Obviously these extension frames will last as long as you abuse them so if you are an occasional rider they will last longer or a serial weekly basher it won’t. The Alias with the 20.1 and 20.2 have shown they will stand up to some serious abuse. Cheap, light, strong: picktwo.

The only thing I'd say with that is that it'll take some getting used to. Because it's more of a progressive increase in power as you move the lever through the stroke rather than linear, you do need to re-learn how the brake adds power in a way. ADVANTAGE OF A FRONT FREEWHEEL That's all a load of crap, sorry but it is the chain has to do EXACTLY the same work weather the freewheel is on the front or back, the freewheel still has to engage too.. the MAIN reasons are that back in the day, you couldn't get cogs any smaller than 20-22t on the front.SHIN GUARDS
