UPDATE ON DRCR RETINA NETWORK PROTOCOLS At the beginning of 2018, the DRCR Retina Network’s scope was expanded to include evaluation of all retinal pathology in a collaborative clinical research setting. Many excellent protocol ideas have been submitted by members of the network and by the whole retina community. The first two protocols not involving DR are now enrollingpatients.

PEARLS FOR THE YAMANE TECHNIQUE There has been plenty of buzz in the retina community about the Yamane technique. When the team at Retina Today was strategizing how best to cover the topic, we decided that deferring to our colleagues in the anterior segment was a good starting place.This article, which is a modified version of a cover story from Retina Today’s sister publication Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today, can be UNDERSTANDING RVUS IN RETINAL CARE Physician Work. The physician work component constitutes an average of 50.9% of the total relative value for each service. The factors used to determine physician work include the time it takes to perform the service, the technical skill and physical effort of a given procedure, the required mental effort and judgment needed for a particular service, and stress due to the potential risk to the WHY WAS MY INTRAVITREAL INJECTION CLAIM DENIED? Incorrect billing for 1 unit may lead to a claim denial or may trigger a chart review. Patients with dry AMD treated with PBM have shown improvements in clinical, anatomic, and quality-of-life assessments.
