The curtain finally closed on the 110 th edition of the All England and while many had argued it should have been shut down and with players refusing to talk, shake hands or leave the hotel, this edition will be certainly be remembered for a very long time. However as always, the Arena Birmingham offered some “sport-wise” historic moments, and this will also be remembered. ANTONSEN, AND THE ELEMENT OF UNCERTAINTY Antonsen, and the element of uncertainty. Denmark’s Anders Antonsen, while being one of the most talented and exciting players of this generation, also happens to be one of the most unpredictable. It is this battle against his own self that has so far prevented the 22–year–old from coming up with a breakthrough performance. She had been involved in the dramatic car accident which cost the life of Malaysian shuttler Tan Chee Tean on September 29th. Antonia was driving the car which was hit frontally by another car, going back from the Czech Open last week-end. TWO-TIME ALL ENGLAND WINNER JUNG JAE SUNG TAKEN BY A HEART Two-time All England winner Jung Jae Sung taken by a heart attack at 35. The Korean badminton community today mourns the passing of two-time All England champion Jung Jae Sung . The 35-year-old died of a heart attack this morning at his home near Suwon, said a report today in the Korean sport paper Sports Hankook. TAI TZU YING IS BADMINTON’S TOP PRIZE-WINNER FOR 2016 Women’s singles world #1 Tai Tzu Ying won more prize money than any other badminton player in 2016.
