May 17, 2018 at 1:39 pm #9951. Hey Everyone, Got an issue here with a 1980 Mercury 18hp. I bought the motor used. tested well at 125psi each cylinder. Ran good in barrel, took it onto the water and it would bog above half throttle. Brought it home cleaned carbs etc. Ran good once again in barrel, took it onto the water same bog above half throttle. 1964 MFG 16′ BOAT NEED ADVICE Good afternoon. I am looking at a 1964 MFG 16′ boat with a 1957 or so I am told it’s a 1957 75 horse Johnson on it. Boat comes with the motor and trailer and needs so TLC for sure. The hull and transom look to be in very good shape just need cleaned up. Comes with originalseats also.
NEED HELP REMOVING ELGIN IMPELLER So, what we have here is the 136060-1 water pump housing’s upper end is trapped between the 25125 coupling, and the 25065-1 impeller. The shaft can’t come down because the coupling bangs against the pump housing. And you can’t pull it out the top because the impeller can’t slide off the bottom of the lower shaft. HOW DO ATOM COMPUTER IGNITION MODULES WORK? Locked up – I’d say not worth the risk. It’s probably a 2.5 hp, water cooled, so will probably need an impeller ($40). I like the pea-green Elgins. They’re well engineered and they run great. A friend of mine in Ohio has a 57′ Johnson 35 HP that is going to need some work ( coils, points, condensers, Impeller, and some Seals + Carb rebuild.) He says when he starts it up it puts a lot of Fuel in the lake ( Big Rainbow ) Are we talking Worn Lower Crank Seal ? Any help appreciated.ELGIN VALUE
If I am looking at it correct, that is the 1.25 HP that was only made one year (’46 or ’47). I picked one of those up last year at a meet (not stuck and with better than average graphics) for $90, so your $60 for a stuck engine and what looks like a new paint job sounds like it is in the ballpark. 1959 EVINRUDE 5.5 GOLDEN JUBILEE Ones that are in super nice original cosmetic condition can and often do command considerably more money as condition improves. I saw a superb example of a 1959 Evinrude Golden Jubilee 10hp Sportwin sell for $400 at a meet this year. I considered buying it myself and I already had 2 others at the time.MERCURY KG7 PARTS
Getting a old Mercury to run isn’t always easy. You can have 120 psi compression, great spark and a good carburetor and a mercury still may not start. A mercury has ball and roller bearing on the crankshaft and it needs a good oil seal on each end of the crank to hold crank casepressure.

JOHNSON TD OWNER’S MANUAL? FOUND Whichever is more like a basic owner’s manual will do. It needs to cover the basics – fueling, starting, running, setting mixture, basic maint., storage, procedures, all that typical stuff. Thanks for the offer, PM sent. This one is taken care of, thanks to the generous efforts of Indian Group Leader. WHAT ISSUES CAN CAUSE SURGING? November 19, 2018 at 8:31 pm #153777. As Ben noted, surging can be caused by crankcase leaks or some other source of air leaks, perhaps in the fuel line or a bad carburetor or reed plate gasket. Bob. 1954Johnson CD-11.

ELTO SERIAL NUMBER
That is a very interesting problem given only that information. The last “K” model Lightwin (AKA Ruddertwin) built in 1929 was serial number 59,999 – so If it has a large rudder it would be ‘a 1930 model. – HOWEVER after combining with Evinrude, the “Super Eltos” got a cthcee digit model number.REPROTINT PAINT QC
Ordered 1958 Holiday Bronze from my QD 19 from them once. Label read 1958, but paint was actually the darker 1957 shade of Holiday Bronze. Never had any trouble with paint color or shade that I ordered from North York Marine, even when I had to order additional cans after running a little short on the initial order.CHAMPION J6J OR J6C
