The Data Center leads CPWR’s work to share timely, relevant, and data-driven information with the construction industry. Our newest publication is the Data Bulletin, published six times a year; it succeeds the Quarterly Data Report. CPWR | ERGONOMICS TRAINING PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES Ergonomics Training Programs and Resources. Construction workers are at high risk for developing work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), such as strains, sprains, carpal tunnel, and back injuries, due to the physically demanding nature of the work they perform. CPWR’s ergonomics community of practice is focused on advancing theuse of
CPWR | FOUNDATIONS FOR SAFETY LEADERSHIP The Foundations for Safety Leadership (FSL) training program was completed in the spring of 2016 and on January 1, 2017, OSHA’s Directorate of Training and Education approved it as an official elective in their construction 30-hour course. Over 100,000 individuals have taken the FSL either during the 30-hour course or as part of a company or CPWR | PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST HEAT EXPOSURE INFOGRAPHICS These new heat safety infographics are a product of the OSHA-CPWR Alliance. CPWR | WORKING IN HOT WEATHER Construction workers, who often work outdoors in direct sunlight or in hot, enclosed spaces, are often at risk for heat-related illnesses and, in severe cases, death. However, these illnesses and deaths are preventable. In 2016 alone, 11 construction workers died from heat stroke and many more became ill from heat-related causes on the job. The following resources contain information about CPWR | SAFETY CLIMATE-SAFETY MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM A new research project to create the Safety Climate-Safety Management Information System (SC-SMIS) will do just that. The SC-SMIS will be a public, interactive, web-based system that contractors can use to assess their safety climate, select and implement appropriate tools to strengthen it, and engage in continuous safety climate improvement.CHAPTER 2WEB VIEW
