AHMANSON THEATRE 2021/22 The seven-production Ahmanson Season will begin on November 30, 2021 with A Christmas Carol! With Los Angeles County progressing through the state’s tiered reopening framework, and with vaccines being made available on an expedited timeline (please get vaccinated!), we are heartened and hopeful that a return to in-person theatre at the Ahmanson is possible in 2021. 'WET: A DACAMENTED JOURNEY' About WET: A DACAmented Journey. WET: A DACAmented Journey is a true story of what it means to be an American in every sense of the word except one: on paper. Award-winning actor, director, spoken word artist and teaching artist Alex Alpharaoh knows firsthand the emotional and psychological hardship of this unending process and risked his own freedom to share his story in a nationwide tour. About the Poets. Siaara Freeman is from Cleveland, Ohio, where she is the current Lake Erie Siren, a two-time nominee for the pushcart prize, a finalist for the 2017 button poetry chapbook competition, a 2017 bettering American poet and Best Of The Net Poet, a 2018 winter tangerine chapbook fellow, and a 2018 Poetry Foundation incubator fellow. Siaara is a four-year PinkDoor Fellow and 2018 TOP FIVE CRUISING BOULEVARDS OF L.A. No one needs to tell a native Angeleno that car culture is rooted deep in Los Angeles. As immortalized in George Lucas’s American Graffiti, cruising is forever enmeshed with youth culture and music. Inspired by the cruisin’ oldies of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons—and Bob Gaudio's red "Caddy" convertible—in Jersey Boys (onstage at the Ahmanson May 16 – June 24, 2017), we take a Coronavirus update: _1776_, _King James_ & _Sakina’s Restaurant_ postponed.
