Late April to the end of June is probably the best time to visit the Outer Hebrides. The days quickly become much longer – although you are some way south of the midnight sun, it never gets completely dark inmid

WHERE TO VISIT IN GABON Suggested itineraries Weekend. If, for whatever reason, you happen to be in Libreville with a day or two to spare, the national parks of Akanda and Pongara are both accessible as rewarding day trips or fine overnight excursions from the city. Akanda is best for mangroves and watery wilderness, while Pongara is renowned for its windswept beaches and coastal savannah. 10 OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN ABRUZZO, ITALY Anversa Degli Abruzzi. Anversa (population: approx. 400) is one of the loveliest villages in Abruzzo. It is situated almost 600m above sea level on a spur that overlooks the Sagittario Gorge, carved, as the name suggests, by the river of the same name. The SERBIA - BRADT GUIDES Serbia. With a long and colourful history that stretches back as far as the early medieval period, Serbian culture is rich and varied: a unique hybrid that is westward-looking but with echoes of an Ottoman past. Serbia is a spirited and fascinating country but it’s still one of the most misunderstood corners of Europe. HIKING TO FAGRADALSFJALL, ICELAND'S ERUPTING VOLCANO Amarok Adventures share their experience of hiking to the Gates of Hell. At 8.45pm on 19 March, a volcanic eruption took place near Fagradalsfjall mountain on the Reykjanes Peninsula in the southwest Iceland. Around that time, we were getting into our routine pool session but it did not take long until we heard the kids happilyscreaming about
PARC NATIONALE LA VISITE Parc Nationale la Visite. To escape to the mountains and pine-forested trail of this national park is divine. Hiking across Parc National la Visite has to be one of the most exhilarating forms of exercise that Haiti can offer, and if your time in the country has involved spending a lot of time stuck in Port-au-Prince’s traffic, then the 8 OF THE BEST WILD SWIMMING SPOTS IN DEVON, ENGLAND The River Dart. The River Dart is one of Devon’s most popular rivers for swimming. Its clear waters, stained the colour of dark red amber by the peaty soil, rush down from the high moor, cascading over large, smooth stones and widening towards Totnes where the river becomes tidal. A popular stretch on Dartmoor itself is around Newbridge. AN ISLAND IDYLL: WELCOME TO BERNERAY, OUTER HEBRIDES If for some reason you don’t feel other islands in the Outer Hebrides offer sufficient solitude, then Berneray – little more than two miles from both north to south and east to west – is the place to come, for this is an island of vast shell-sand beaches, hills and a tight-knit if dispersed community.. Most visitors discover Berneray on a day trip but often get hooked on the place and THE GREEN LIST: WHICH COUNTRIES WILL HAVE QUARANTINE-FREE What decides which countries are on the green list? The ‘green-amber-red’ traffic light-style approach that categorises countries on the requirements needed when travelling there or back, has been devised based on factors like number of vaccinations, new variants and infection rates – often recorded as R value (where R =1 means that every 10 people infected will infect 10 other people onWWW.BRADTGUIDES.COM

Be it a tantalising glimpse of a minke whale, the jaw-droppingly long roll of a fin whale’s back, or the breathtaking power of an orca (aka killer whale), the sight will be indelibly inscribed on your retina. And once you’ve seen your first whale, you will want 8 OF THE WORLD'S BEST DESTINATIONS FOR SEAFOOD LOVERS West Sweden – for oysters. West Sweden’s Bohuslän Coast is known for its succulent seafood: mussels, oysters, lobsters, langoustines, crabs and prawns all thriving in the deep, cold and exceptionally clean waters. The low temperatures cause the crustaceans to grow slower than in warmer climates, consequently producing an exceptionaltaste.
FOOD AND DRINK IN UMBRIA & THE MARCHE Regional traditions are strong in Italy, not only in dialect but in the kitchen.
