Arlington County transportation planners have established a robust program of continuous, automated bicycle and pedestrian counters to generate data on bicycle and pedestrian transportation. Collecting better active transportation data is essential to building long-term support for walking and cycling, and for improving conditions for those who walk and ride bikes. The County currently has 37 FAMILY BIKE CAMPING ALONG THE C&O CANAL Several years ago, we came up with an idea to start a kid's camp that uses outdoor adventure as a means to encourage alternative learning opportunities as well as promote physical and emotional well-being. Since our inaugural C&O Canal bike adventure in 2011, we have sponsored four trips on the towpath and exposed over 30 kids to adventure and learning experiences. New Capital Bikeshare Station Work in Arlington. In December 2020, Arlington installed several new Capital Bikeshare stations bringing our total number of stations to 99! System improvements will continue in January 2021 when several stations in Crystal City, Pentagon City, and Potomac Yard will be replaced, expanded, moved or removed.
