Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, and rescued from the exotic pet trade, zoos and research facilities. Bat World was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, accredited organization with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. Donations allow us to continue our rescueefforts
BAT CAMS - BAT WORLD Please enjoy watching the birds, squirrels aka “squirrbles”, raccoons and opossums that come to snack and get fresh water outside of Bat World Sanctuary. New – Goat Cams! Line a box with an old t-shirt so the bat has a surface to hang upside-down. Create some pleats in the shirt so the bat can hide if it wants to. (Make sure any tape that is used is secured well so the bat won't get stuck.) Put a small amount of water in a small, shallow container like a vitamin or baby food jar lid (as seen in the videobelow).

BAT RESCUE AND REHABILITATION RESTRICTIONS In December 2019, a new zoonotic illness began spreading rapidly in the Wuhan Province of China. OUR MISSION
Our History. Bat World is the legacy of a small bat, found injured on a hot Texas sidewalk in the summer of 1988 by Amanda Lollar.Thinking bats were vermin at the time, but not wanting the tiny animal to suffer, she scooted the bat onto a newspaper with the toe of her shoe. Bats are clean, gentle and intelligent, they are vital to the ecosystem, and they enhance our lives in many ways. Fruit and nectar bats bring us approximately 450 commercial products and over 80 different medicines through seed dispersal and pollination. Up to 98% of all rainforest regrowth comes from seeds that have been spread by fruit bats. Insect-eating bats are literal vacuum cleaners of the night skies, eating millions upon millions of harmful bugs. They protect us by eating insect-pests that destroy crops as well as insects that cause human disease.WHAT WE DO
Bat
World Sanctuary is on the front line to end the mistreatment of bats. Each year we rescue hundreds of bats who might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, and rescued from the exotic pet trade, zoos and research facilities. Bat World was founded in 1994 and is a 501c3 non-profit, accredited organization with the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries .
