Code reviews help assure quality. They’re also an invaluable professional development tool. Important as they are, we’ve always struggled implementing a successful code review process at Aten – but that's changing. Over the last few months our front-end team has been doing group code reviews and they've already proven to be useful. BUILDING COLLABORATIVE CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE Here at Aten, all of our engagements are high-touch and collaborative. We do not bottleneck communication through a project manager or an account manager. Instead, every client has direct access to their team within Aten via Slack, Basecamp, JIRA and Zoom. EXPRESSIVE AUTHORING WITH LAYOUT PARAGRAPHS The Authoring Experience Problem Authoring experience is a huge concern for web teams everywhere. As it should be. The ability for digital publishers to keep up with the rapidly accelerating demands of their users, and the pace of their competitors, largely depends on providing easy-to-use, expressive tools for their teams to createcompelling content.
GULP, BROWSERIFY, AND ERROR HANDLING The front-end stack is an ever growing list of processes and dependencies. These tools typically improve your process, but in some cases can hinder it. HOW TO DETERMINE WHICH CSS IS STYLING AN ELEMENT When I first started working on the web, my entire process for figuring out how something worked was the "view source" menu option in my browser. Sometimes I miss that simpler web. But nostalgia notwithstanding, the web is more complicated now, browsers have more complicated tools for figuring out how things are working, and developers need to know those tools. JSON API: GETTING JUST THE DATA YOU NEED WITH SPARSE The JSON API module provides a standard method for requesting entities from a Drupal site via HTTP requests. When you make a request to JSON API, the data is returned as either a single entity object or an array of entity objects. In JSON API terms each of these entities is calleda resource.
