F2PY FIRST STEP
Posted on October 29, 2018by yhtian
Environment setup for F2PY – first step, though no real project hasbeen done yet.
Windows 7, 64bit
Referring to
http://www.hedilict.com/f2py%E7%9A%84%E9%85%8D%E5%88%B6%E4%B8%8E%E4%BD%BF%E7%94%A8-windows-and-linux-platform/ (with acknowledgement) 1. Download Python 2.7 and install https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-2715/ (Description: for AMD64/EM64T/x64) 2. Write into system environment variable Path = XPathX\Python27;XPathX\Python27\Scripts where XPathX is substituted by the real path of Python3. Download Numpy
https://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#numpy (numpy‑1.14.6+mkl‑cp27‑cp27m‑win_amd64.whl) It is a .whl file, run cmd pip install numpy_xxx.whl I did not have problem here, but if there is “Fatal error in launcher: Unable to create process using ‘”‘ ” Try python -m pip install numpy_xxx.whl Now you can test the numpy is successful or not using: python XPathX\Python27\Scripts\f2py.py 4. Download MinGW-64 as Fortran compiler and install https://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw-w64/ select x64 and keep others unchanged 5. Add C:\mingw\mingw\bin into Path environment variable I also added C_INCLUDE_PATH = C:\mingw\mingw64\include, though not sure this is really necessary. 6. Write a fortran file Hello.f and run python XPathX\Python27\Scripts\f2py.py -c –fcompiler=gnu95 –compiler=mingw32 -m hello hello.f I got an error message saying “error: Unable to find vcvarsall.bat” because I installed Visual studio 2010 where VS2008is expected.
Refer to http://f.dataguru.cn/thread-160932-1-1.htmladopting Option 2:
open python path\Lib\distutils\msvc9compiler.py change toolskey = “VS%0.f0COMNTOOLS” % version to toolskey = ”VS100COMNTOOLS” It should be ok now, if everything is fine and you get hello.pyd.run python
import hello
hello.hello()
Bingo!!

TEAMVIEWER REPLACED REMOTE DESKTOP Posted on June 17, 2018by yhtian
RD has been used for a few years but just changed to TeamViewer, which performs much better than RD: 1. RD shows distorted model for ABAQUS; 2. RD aborts with error using Python to process figure/capturescreens;
3. RD can not run some program remotely (probably still screenproblem).
TV seems all good without any of these problems. Posted in Uncategorized| Leave a

Load up task manager (right click taskbar and select Task Manager) Go to the Processes TabSelect rdpclip.exe
Click End Process
Go to the Application TabClick New Process
Type rdpclip
Click Ok
