Joshua, 30, beat Andy Ruiz Jr on points in a December rematch in Saudi Arabia to win back the world titles Ruiz had taken from him at Madison Square Gardens six months earlier. Known as “The Cobra”, Pulev challenged for the IBF world heavyweight title in 2014, losing against Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg on a fifth-round knockout. He pulled out of a scheduled meeting with the Briton in 2017 because of injury. Joshua last fought in London in September 2018 when he beat Alexander Povetkin at Wembley Stadium. If Joshua beats Pulev he could be in line for an all-British title unification fight against Tyson Fury. A third fight between the WBC champion Fury and Deontay Wilder is on and set for the US by early July, the Briton’s promoter Frank Warren said on Monday. Fury took the title in Las Vegas last month with a seventh-round stoppage of Wilder,
who fought the Briton to a split-decision draw in their first meeting in December 2018. Warren had said he wanted Fury to fight Joshua next in a world title unification bout but Wilder had a rematch clause. “He’s invoked the rematch clause so that is what we are working towards,” Warren told TalkSport radio. “It’s contracted to take place in the States. That is in the contract and set in stone unless anyone agrees differently. But at the moment it is due to take place in the US. It will take place by the end of June, early July – nolater than that.”

1:36 Deontay Wilder warns Tyson Fury 'the war has just begun' for summer rematch – video WHEN DISINFORMATION IS RAMPANT... ... it can swing an election and undermine democracy. In 2020 that threat is real. Academics and experts warn that this year’s election will see a wave of disinformation from domestic actors who have learned from foreign interference in 2016. This year’s tsunami of fake news may well be homegrown as agents seek to sow lies and stirdivision.
Hyper-partisan news sources, factories of disinformation and a deluge of fake news on social media is no basis on which to inform the American public in 2020. There has never been a greater need for a robust, independent press guided first and foremost by the truth. With your support we can continue to provide fact-based reporting that provides clarity in the face of confusion. Our journalism is free and open for all, but it's made possible thanks to the support we receive from readers like you across America in all 50 states. On the occasion of its 100th birthday in 1921 the editor of the Guardian said, "Perhaps the chief virtue of a newspaper is its independence. It should have a soul of its own." That is more true than ever. Freed from the influence of an owner or shareholders, the Guardian's editorial independence is our unique driving force andguiding principle.
We hope you will consider supporting us today. We need your support to keep delivering quality journalism that’s open and independent. Every reader contribution, however big or small, is so valuable. SUPPORT THE GUARDIAN FROM AS LITTLE AS $1 – AND IT ONLY TAKES AMINUTE. THANK YOU.
