Maggie Beer has described her family as "broken hearted" after her daughter, chef and businesswoman Saskia Beer, passed away "unexpectedly yet peacefully" on Friday night. "It is with broken hearts we need to let you all know that Saskia, our beautiful, extraordinary daughter, sister, wife and mother died unexpectedly yet peacefully in her sleep on Friday night," the post said, shared on the social media accounts of Maggie Beer and SaskiaBeer Farm Produce.

Ms Beer's meat produce and catering business, Saskia Beer Farm Produce, will continue to be run by her husband, the Instagram postsaid.

Her website said she developed an "affinity for food" after growing up "surrounded by the principles of good farming and honest cooking" through her mother's restaurant and her father Colin's farming. The produce business, established in 1997, operates out of the Barossa Valley in South Australia, where her mother Maggie also got her startin food.
Aged in her forties, Ms Beer had three children and married her husband Petar Jercic in April last year, as stated on her Instagramaccount.
She was remembered as "special" and a "beautiful person" by fellow chefs and customers on social media. "Your beautiful, special, darling Sassy-girl. I am just so, so sad for all of you, I loved Sassy so much and hold you all very very closely in my heart," celebrity chef Kylie Kwong wrote on Maggie Beer's post.*
