* That's all from this game! However, we have another game coming up at the same ground. It is between South Africa Women and West Indies Women. It is still pouring down at the ground and it looks unlikely that we will have a prompt start. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Do join us for that game. Until then, cheers. * Javeria Khan, the Pakistan skipper says Maroof has had a surgery and she hopes that she recovers quickly. Further adds Thailand's batting surprised them and it gave them a lesson that you should never be complacent. Further adds that she congratulates Thailand for playing fearless cricket. Mentions Diana and Nida did bowl decently but they could not execute their plans here. Ends by saying that they will head back with their heads held high, they played well but made mistakes at important times. * Sornnarin Tippoch, the Thailand skipper says they had a positive mindset today and the openers did really well. Further adds this was their last game and so they wanted to play aggressive cricket. Mentions that she is pleased they played at this stage and they want to play more against the big side. Reckons the people back home will be very happy and they will be an example for the youngsters. Ends by saying they will prepare for the next World Cup and come stronger. * So, a sad end to the journey for Thailand in this Women's World Cup. They batted well to reach their highest ever T20I score and it was Nattaka Kancham who led from the front with a fifty. She and Nattaya Boochatham stitched a 93-run stand to give them a good start. They eventually ended up with 150 on the board which looked a very good score on this wicket. Pakistan, on the other hand, were poor with the ball. They kept on bowling full tosses and they were rightly put away. Anam Amin was disappointing, while Nida Dar was the pick of the bowlers, bowling economically as well as picking up a wicket. Their batters had a tough job on their hands as they had never chased a total above 150 but the Rain Gods saved them as it started pouring down at the end of the first innings. Stay tuned for the presentationceremony...
* UPDATE 1757 LOCAL (0657 GMT) - The inevitable has happened as the rain has failed to relent and the game has been CALLED OFF. * UPDATE 1743 LOCAL (0643 GMT) - Nothing new to update as it is still raining at the moment. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we have a game resumption soon. The cut-off time for a 5-over game is 1803 Local (0703 GMT). * UPDATE 1715 LOCAL (0615 GMT) - Not a good sign for all the cricket fans and specially the ones supporting Thailand as the rain has got heavier and it does not look good at all as rain is predicted for the entire day. We have started to lose overs also. There is no movement on the ground as of now as the players have also moved from their dugout to their dressing rooms. * Anjum Chopra is down with the two umpires. Clair Polosak says that the rain has got heavier at the end of the first innings. Mentions that they have 30 mins of time before they start losing overs. She says that they would look to get the maximum they can get from the game. Chris Brown further says that for now they are just keeping a close eye on the weather and he hopes that it clears sooner than later but for now the covers stay firmly onto the pitch. * Ohh no!!! It has started raining and the covers are coming onto the pitch. This is not something that Thailand would have wanted as they batted well and would be itching to have a crack at the Pakistani batters. Let's hope that the rain clears away. * So, the target for Pakistan is 151 in the 20 overs. Their batters will need to bat responsibly and with intent if they have to win it here and end the tournament with a high. Thailand would hope that their bowlers come good and restrict Pakistan to win their first game in this tournament. Will we see Thailand cause an upset or will Pakistan prevail? Do join us shortly for the chase on the other sideof the break.
* Nattaka Chantam says that she is happy to have batted like this. Adds that she just followed the plans and she did her job. Goes onto say that she has enjoyed the World Cup. * Talking of the Pakistan bowling, they were not as their usual self as Diana Baig their best bowler so far in the tournament was smashed all around the park. Anam Amin, Aliya Riaz too failed to contain the run flow. Only Nida Dar looked somewhat in the groove as she kept the Thailand batters quiet for sometime. Overall, Pakistan would not be happy with their poor bowling and also some shoddy fielding. Meanwhile, Nattakan Chantam is down for a quick chat with AnjumChopra.
* What a batting performance we have seen from Thailand! They just played like there is no other day. It started with the toss when Sornnarin Tippoch, the Thailand skipper, after winning the toss, to everyone's surprise opted to bat first. Their openers were spot on from the word go. Nattakan Chantam and Nattaya Boochatham were firing on all cylinders. The pair added 93 runs for the opening wicket. The duo took on Pakistan bowling as all their bowlers were sent on a leather hunt. Though Nattaya Boochatham missed out on a well-deserved fifty but her partner Nattakan Chantam got to hers. In the end, Thailand ended with 150 runs on the board, their highest T20I score. * 19.6 Floated on middle, Kamchomphu lifts it towards long and takes off for a couple. The fielder there fumbles, allowing the batters to pick up a couple. THAILAND END ON 150/3. * 19.5 Flatter one outside off, Kamchomphu looks to cut but fails toget any bat on it.
