VILLANOVA’S WOODROSE: TWO ALBUM RELEASES IN A YEAR Emerging from the pandemic and into the music scene at full force, Woodrose, Villanova’s new indie rock band, has recorded and released two entire EP albums all within the past year. BOOK OF THE WEEK: “ALL THE UGLY AND WONDERFUL THINGS Bryn Greenwood’s All the Ugly and Wonderful Things blurs lines of every concept avid readers have come to know and love. INCOMING CLASS APPLICATIONS SET NEW RECORD Incoming class applications set new record. High school hopefuls with Villanova in their sights set a new University record with a total of 17,235 total applications to the class of 2020. With the intention of enrolling 1,670 of those students, Villanova’s acceptance rate will dramatically drop from its previous 48 percent. STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: HAFTU STRINZOS, CROSS COUNTRY Haftu Strintzos, a junior on the cross country and track teams, was one of them. Strintzos is from Australia and was adopted from Ethiopia by his parents. He has been very successful on and off the track since coming to Villanova. He won all-Big East in 2019 in cross country and won all-Big East in the 2020 indoor track season.
