Before joining Victory Gardens Theater as Executive Director, Erica Daniels was President of Second City Theatricals where she shepherded the remount of The Art of Falling with Hubbard Street Dance Company, as well as Black Side of the Moon with Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Second City’s collaboration with Slate on Unelectable You The Second City’s Completely Unbiased Political Revue, and The LEE EDWARD COLSTON II Lee Edward Colston II is a Philly native, former prison guard turned actor, playwright, director, acting and writing coach, and author. During this writing and performance unit, classmates share their experiences and find a commonality that helps them become more comfortable opening up infront of a group.

Ken-Matt Martin is the Artistic Director of Victory Gardens Theater, and was born in Little Rock, AR. He began his life in the performing arts as a child actor after booking an appearance on Nickelodeon’s landmark series All That.He went on to be educated and receive theatrical training at Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Drake University (Musical Theater/Journalism), and Brown University/Trinity THE ADULT IN THE ROOM How did Nancy Pelosi become the first Woman Speaker of the House – and perhaps more importantly, how has she managed to stay there? A woman about whom everyone has an opinion, and yet who almost no one truly knows, tells her personal story and political journey while trying to balance the forces of extreme left and extreme right, using all her power to preserve that rarest of rare birds in PLAYWRIGHTS ENSEMBLE Joel Drake Johnson (d. January 11, 2020) was a member of the inaugural Playwrights Ensemble at Victory Gardens Theater. During his tenure, five of his plays were produced at VG, all world premieres: Before My Eyes (1998), The End of the Tour (2003), Four Places (2008), A Guide for the Perplexed (2010), and The Boys Room (2011). HOW TO DEFEND YOURSELF Synopsis. How to Defend Yourself circles around seven college students who gather for a DIY self-defense workshop after a sorority sister is raped. They learn how to “not be a victim”, how to use their bodies as weapons, how to fend off attackers. The form of self-defense becomes a channel for their rage, trauma, confusion, anxiety, anddesire.

UPDATE ON THE 2020/21 SEASON In response to the covid-19 pandemic, we have updated our programming schedule for next season to protect our staff, artists, and community. We will be presenting two mainstage productions in the spring of 2021, and our planned productions of _Poor Yella Rednecks_, _In Every Generation_, and _Exit Strategy_ are postponed to a later date.View the Season
