HOW TO GET TO HENRY RUN SAWMILL DAM FALLS IN COOK FOREST I’ve been to hundreds of Pennsylvania waterfalls during my travels, but I’ve never seen another quite like Henry Run Sawmill Dam Falls in Cook Forest State Park.. Henry Run Sawmill Dam Falls is hidden in an area of the park that few visitors reach and doesn’t appear at all on the park map. EXPLORING THE RYERSS MUSEUM: ONE OF PHILLY'S BEST HIDDEN I’ve visited many fantastic museums in Philly, but few have been as interesting as the Ryerss Museum.This little-known museum is located in northeastern Philadelphia’s Burholme Park in the Fox Chase neighborhood and is home to an amazing collection of ancient Asian, European, and Native American art, religious pieces, and weaponry. 10 GREAT THINGS TO DO IN PENNSYLVANIA IN JULY If you love traveling throughout Pennsylvania, July is a great month for exploration. With a plethora of outdoor adventures to be had, nearly every museum in the state open, and hundreds of great events happening, there’s more than enough to keep the whole familyentertained.
HOW TO GET TO SAVANTINE FALLS AND SAWKILL FALLS IN PIKE Sawkill Falls is located near Route 6 west of Milford. There are two possible ways to reach these waterfalls, both of which require some off-trail hiking, so I highly recommend bringing along a GPS of some sort to make sure you don’t get turned around while trying to find these beautiful waterfalls.. HOW TO GET TO RAPP RUN FALLS IN CLARION, PENNSYLVANIA Located in the southwestern corner of the Pennsylvania Wilds, Clarion is an incredibly picturesque small town.Located on a bluff above the Clarion River, the community serves as both the county seat of Clarion County and the home of Clarion University. However, in my opinion, the highlight of Clarion sits just outside the town. HOW TO GET TO LITTLE SHICKSHINNY FALLS IN LUZERNE COUNTY, PA Little Shickshinny Falls is hidden but easy to reach. The easy-to-follow, but unmarked trail leads down the hillside towards the waterfall. If water levels are high, part of the trail turns into a bit of a stream, so be prepared to possibly get your feet wet on thehike in.

There is also a small overhang that allows visitors to walk behind this scenic waterfall near Pittsburgh. 8. East Park Falls. The twin waterfalls of East Park in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. PENNSYLVANIA WATERFALLS: HOW TO GET TO HINCKSTON RUN FALLS There are several impressive roadside waterfalls in Pennsylvania, but none as impressive as Hinckston Run Falls near Johnstown.. Hinckston Run Falls drops 60 feet off of stone cliffs into an impressive pool below. According to information online, Hinckston Run Falls is not naturally occurring, but was created when Hinckston Run Reservoir wascreated in 1904.

While only a short hike is required to reach this spot, the uneven terrain can make it a bit of a challenge to get to the overlook. Frick was born in West Overton Village in western PA and later became the director of US Steel. During his lifetime, Frick’s legacy was one of union-busting during the Homestead Strike near the Carrie Furnace and being one of the men responsible for the devastating Johnstown Flood. 19 FANTASTIC WEEKEND GETAWAYS IN PA Where to Go: The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is the closest thing PA has to a National Park, and it’s a fantastic destination for a Poconos weekend getaway. The area is home to the tallest waterfalls in Pennsylvania, Raymondskill Falls 25 OF THE MOST UNIQUE AND UNUSUAL AIRBNBS IN PENNSYLVANIA Step into this historic 1975 Airstream trailer for one of the most unique Airbnbs in PA. Located on a farm in Lancaster County, this is a great spot to base yourself while exploring Amish Country, Hershey, Harrisburg, and many more great spots. This RV has been totally remodeled and has a very eclectic and modern style. 23 FANTASTIC THINGS TO DO IN ERIE, PA Located in northwestern Pennsylvania, Erie is an often-overlooked city by PA travelers. However, those that venture out to the state’s fourth-largest city are in for a big surprise as there are a ton of fantastic things to do in Erie, PA. 10 BEAUTIFUL WATERFALLS NEAR PHILADELPHIA Luke’s Falls and Buttermilk Falls. The lower half of Buttermilk Falls is located adjacent to a great rail trail. Luke’s Falls and Buttermilk Falls are two waterfalls just a short walk from each other in Lehigh Gorge State Park, just under two hours from Philly. From the parking area, the waterfalls are located roughly a 10-minute walk in EXPLORING THE LITTLE-KNOWN CORAL CAVERNS IN BEDFORD COUNTY, PA Coral Caverns in Bedford County, PA is among the latter. Coral Caverns is located in Manns Choice, PA, less than a 15-minute drive from downtown Bedford. Finding the entrance is a bit difficult as it’s set behind this small community. However, those that do seek it out are in for a real treat. The small visitor center and museum at CoralCaverns.
THE ABANDONED NUCLEAR JET BUNKERS IN THE QUEHANNA WILD The nuclear jet engine bunkers sit in the middle of the Quehanna Wild Area in Cameron County, Pennsylvania. While there are a few ways to reach the first site, the best is to park in a small dirt lot at the intersection of the Quehanna Highway and Wykoff Run Road. The parking area can be found at the following coordinates: 41.229955, -78.192041. INSIDE THE ABANDONED YELLOW DOG VILLAGE NEAR KITTANNING Located seven miles west of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, Yellow Dog Village is a semi-abandoned ghost town that offers a fascinating look into the industrial history of western Pennsylvania. Without a doubt, it’s one of the most interesting abandoned places in PA.. Throughout Pennsylvania, small communities were built as company towns for workers at nearby factories and mines. The area is home to the tallest waterfalls in Pennsylvania, Raymondskill Falls 25 OF THE MOST UNIQUE AND UNUSUAL AIRBNBS IN PENNSYLVANIA Step into this historic 1975 Airstream trailer for one of the most unique Airbnbs in PA. Located on a farm in Lancaster County, this is a great spot to base yourself while exploring Amish Country, Hershey, Harrisburg, and many more great spots. This RV has been totally remodeled and has a very eclectic and modern style. 23 FANTASTIC THINGS TO DO IN ERIE, PA Located in northwestern Pennsylvania, Erie is an often-overlooked city by PA travelers. However, those that venture out to the state’s fourth-largest city are in for a big surprise as there are a ton of fantastic things to do in Erie, PA. 10 BEAUTIFUL WATERFALLS NEAR PHILADELPHIA Luke’s Falls and Buttermilk Falls. The lower half of Buttermilk Falls is located adjacent to a great rail trail. Luke’s Falls and Buttermilk Falls are two waterfalls just a short walk from each other in Lehigh Gorge State Park, just under two hours from Philly. From the parking area, the waterfalls are located roughly a 10-minute walk in EXPLORING THE LITTLE-KNOWN CORAL CAVERNS IN BEDFORD COUNTY, PA Coral Caverns in Bedford County, PA is among the latter. Coral Caverns is located in Manns Choice, PA, less than a 15-minute drive from downtown Bedford. Finding the entrance is a bit difficult as it’s set behind this small community. However, those that do seek it out are in for a real treat. The small visitor center and museum at CoralCaverns.
