Welcome to The Unapologetic Knitter - an online knitting pattern shop and blog! This is the best place to find information on new knitting patterns that I have designed such as brioche knitting patterns, sock knitting patterns, shawl knitting patterns and knitting video tutorials! One of my top priorities in writing my knitting patterns is PORTFOLIO — THE UNAPOLOGETIC KNITTER Stripe It To Me (Ewe Ewe Yarns, featuring Fluffy Fingering): These adorable cuff-down socks highlight the contrast between a neutral and a pop of color! Suitable for men and women, these addictive-to-knit socks are a visual treat: depending on which way you look at them, the stripes run vertically OR horizontally! View fullsize. Snow Business UNAPOLOGETIC PATTERNS knitting patterns by the unapologetic knitter. All of my independently published patterns are available on Ravelry.com. I have a wide range of items from socks, cowls and shawls and a few garments thrown in for fun. I host my patterns on Ravelry because I value the community that has been built, the support the site offers to designers, and so BLOG — THE UNAPOLOGETIC KNITTER The original 4-panel Back on Track shawl (red) was a labor of love; I knit the over-sized wrap/shawl/poncho shortly after relocating to Oregon as we rented a home while we searched for our “forever” home. It was my first time using Blue Moon Fiber Arts and I became an instant fan! The drape from the silk in the Polworth/Silk blend is pretty dang dreamy, and my oh my is it warm! TECH EDITING SERVICES HOW TO: ONE COLOR BRIOCHE, KNIT FLAT Instagram (at least MY feed) is a-buzz with Stephen West's pattern, Exploration Station. I happened to just finish mine and love it. I haven't actually taken a finished photo of it NOT on the blocking mats so instead, check out his pattern page if you want to see how it fits.. But, since I love my colors, here's a look at mine on the

blocking mats.

FREE PATTERN RELEASE: MY FAVORITE VANILLA SOCKS I definitely have a template for my favorite TV knitting socks so I figured I'd write it up and share it with you. My Favorite Vanilla Socks. View fullsize. The pattern is available HERE on Ravelry. Download it. Make lots of socks. And make them YOUR Favorite Vanilla socks! Tags: 2015, new pattern, socks, free. 29 Likes. HOW TO: TWO COLOR BRIOCHE, KNIT FLAT This won't be repeated again, it is only worked once. You'll knit this using color 1. Do not turn your work. Slide all the sts back to the right side of the needle to be worked again. Row 2 is also worked on the RS of the fabric so you'll need DPNs or a circular needle for this project. You'll knit this using color 2.

FLEEGLE HEEL

Recommended Fit: 1” / 2.5 cm negative ease in circumference, measured at widest part of the foot (while standing), and 15% negative ease in length when measured from the tip of the longest toe to the back of the heel. PROJECT GAUGE. 32 sts and 46 rnds = 4” in stockinette stitch knit in the round, taken after blocking. NOTES. HOW TO: FIX DROPPED STITCHES IN BRIOCHE The first tutorial, the PLANNED tutorial, is how to pick up dropped stitches in brioche. I've gone with the two-color work knit flat since it shows the most contrast between the stitches, but the same rules apply to one color AND brioche knit in the round. We have two fur-babies, Peaches and Zoey, rescue chihuahua mixes who are EXTREME cuddlers. I love pizza. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS To redistribute the stitches so that the beginning of round is at the right side of the instep, knit to the first marker on Needle 1 (N1). Remove this marker. KALS & TUTORIALS

Tutorials. Check back on the regular to find out what new tips, tricks and KALs might be popping up! the unapologetic knitter on youtube. What began as an outlet to host a brioche knit along, has become a great resource for a variety of knitting skills. Check out the channel to get some useful tips on brioche, cast-ons, tassel making and more!

THE RIBBON HEEL

Here is a supplemental video about finishing the Ribbon Short Row Heel. There has been some confusion regarding finishing the heel while working the last unworked stitch on the right hand side of the heel (i.e.: where the instructions say "with the wrong side facing"). HOW TO: ONE COLOR BRIOCHE IN THE ROUND Much like brioche knit flat, we begin with a setup row, except it's a round. So unlike our samples which we used the first and last stitch as a selvedge edge stitch, we're going to work from the first stitch to the last stitch in the *k1, sl1yo* repeats. HOW TO: TWO COLOR BRIOCHE IN THE ROUND This is for all the peanuts. The whole shebang. The full wheelbarrow. The fully-loaded supreme pizza. This is what makes people sit up and take notice - two color brioche, in the round. And it's SO easy! The hardest part about preparing for this video tutorial was selecting the colors I was going t

FALLING DOWN MKAL

And here's the count of the garter rows up the side of the flap starting from the leg side (the 14th row of garter is right up against the needle). To start picking up the stitches to create the gusset: 1) Locate the first bump adjacent to your live heel sts. Put your needle into the first WHOLE stitch, making sure you're picking up both legs NEW TRIO OF PATTERNS: FOR THE LOVE OF GARTER SHAWLS V2.0 seemed like a natural progression for me - I loved the shape and wearability of V1.0 but wanted to add a pop: not just to the border of the shawl but highlighting the columns of lacework. This embroidered column effect adds some wow-factor. And, of course, I created a new video tutorial for this beauty, too: check out the Highlighted Ladders video tutorial on my YouTube channel. KNITTING FRESH BRIOCHE Nancy's new book, "Knitting Fresh Brioche: Creating Two-Color Twists & Turns" is a wonderful resource for any knitter looking to knit this years trend. And the cover truly says it all - from the moment I picked up the book I knew I was going to have a plethora of options for two-color Brioche that would keep my fingers busy for months on end.
