TWA's FINAL DEPARTURE FROM LISBON is a short five-minute video taken by a TWA employee in Lisbon, Portugal. It chronicles the last TWA flight to depart Lisbon and includes the farewell at the gate, the flight taxiing out and then taking off. There's also a specialsurprise

TWA Museum Guides. Welcome to the first video essay in our Short-Hauls section, TWA's Final Departure From Lisbon. On January 14, 2001, TWA operated its last flight from Portugal as flight 901 departed Lisbon, bound for New York's Kennedy International Airport.TWA MUSEUM GUIDES
It provides a great background for the TWA flag flying right next to our museum's building. Above it is the flag of Signature Flight Support, with whom we share the building. The constant activity on Signature's ramp provides an interesting backdrop for visitors to our museum. As you probably know, our building was opened in 1932 andserved as

A seven foot-long model of the Concorde Supersonic Transport (SST), in TWA livery, now sits in the main gallery. Yet, a model such as this, is as close as TWA ever got to operating Concorde. TWA continued to fly into Winslow until 1953. Today, no scheduled airline service is available however Winslow-Lindbergh is a busy airport, handling over 20,000 operations in 2016. Tenants include the U.S. Forest Service, which uses the airport as an operations base forTWA MUSEUM GUIDES

THE TriStar OF OUR SHOW. With a unique combination of beauty, grace and technology, the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar flew millions of TWA passengers from 1972 to 1997. Large-scale models of the aircraft greet visitors when they first enter our building at 10 Richards Road and again upon stepping into our main gallery. It was an impressiveairplane.
