WHAT IS PERMACULTURE? The term permaculture combines the words permanent and culture, or permanent and agriculture, and that is the first hint to what it's all about. The definition of Permaculture. Photo: planet a. The philosophy behind permaculture was developed about thirty years ago GROWING FRUITS AND FRUIT TREES Growing Fruits and Fruit Trees. Growing fruits and fruit trees is my biggest passion in life. Fruit is something you can eat all day, just as it is, fresh, organic, yummy, juicy and bursting with flavour.PERMACULTURE ZONES
Permaculture Zone 2. Zone 2 in a permaculture design also receives a lot of attention, but less than zone 1. Growing zone 2 is usually fully irrigated - if your climate requires it, that is - and mulched. It contains your smaller fruit trees, shrubs and trellised fruit, bramble berries, as
GROWING HERBS AND SPICES Growing Herbs and Spices. Growing herbs and spices is easy to do in the tropics. You just have to pick the right herbs and spices! I received an email from a reader the other day.GROWING VEGETABLES
But the best thing you can do if you want to grow vegetables in a tropical climate is to simply switch to growing tropical vegetables. Follow permaculture principles: work with nature not against it and grow the vegetables that LIKE growing in your climate. It saves you so much hassle and bug problems and the harvest will be MUCH bigger.GROWING CHILLIES
Chilli seeds need 20°C/68 °F to germinate, and it should be 30°C/86°F or more for the fruit to ripen. Night temperatures should not drop below 15°C/60°F, at least not on a regular basis. The odd cool spell is ok. Chillies also don't mind humidity as much as sweet peppers or tomatoes do. HOW TO GROW PASSION FRUIT? BY GROWING PASSIONFRUIT SEEDS... The fruit is either yellow or purple (depending on the variety, see below), round, and about 5-8 cm/2-3 inches across. It has a smooth, thick, pithy rind, filled with sweet, aromatic pulp, juice and seeds. Passionfruit vines climb up any support, readily and rapidly, GROWING MANGOES AND HOW TO GROW MANGO TREES FROM SEED Eat a nice mango, remove as much flesh from the seed as possible and then let it dry for a day or two. To germinate the mango seed you could just put the whole thing in a warm, moist place (for example a compost pile) and wait for it to sprout. Then cut off all the seedlings except for one. HOW TO GROW SWEET POTATOES? GROWING SWEET POTATOES THE The quickest and easiest way to grow sweet potatoes is to use cuttings. Simply cut a piece of a runner, about a foot (30 cm) in length. Remove all the leaves except for the tiny leaves at the very tip. Plant the cutting by covering the whole length with soil, only the leaves of the tip should stick out of the ground. NITROGEN FIXING BACTERIA Nitrogen fixing plants are called legumes. Legumes - and all peas and beans are legumes - are plants that work together with nitrogen fixing bacteria called rhizobia, to "fix" nitrogen. Nitrogen from the air diffuses into the ground. The rhizobia chemically convert that nitrogen to make it available for the plant. HOW TO GROW PINEAPPLES? GROWING PINEAPPLES IS RIDICULOUSLY Pineapples grow with very little water.
