WHAT'S IN YOUR CLEAN BEAUTY TOOL KIT? Australian-born, New York-based makeup artist, Sam Addington is committed to the idea that beauty is more than skin deep. She has painted some of the world’s most well known faces like Saiorse Ronan and Brooke Shields for publications like Vogue, ELLE, and Harper’s Bazaar. While her minimalist aesthetic appears effortless, it belies her considered, health first, holistic approach to beauty. COMPLICITY AND (IN)ACTION Vital conversations around the intersections of race and fashion beg the question of how to affect change in a broken industry, where elitism and white supremacy prevail. Largely white leadership and white representation has been the dominant factor even when exploring and exploiting people of color and their cultural identities THE ART OF STAIN REMOVAL If we want to curb the effects of climate change, we’re going to have to make the commitment to buy less, reuse more, and understand the complicated contradiction of sustainable consumerism. So what can you do today to start the fight? Start by taking care of SARA ZIFF AND HER MODEL ALLIANCE In 2012, Ziff founded The Model Alliance, a non-profit research, policy, and advocacy organization to promote “fair treatment, equal opportunity, and sustainable practices in the fashion industry, from the runway to the factory floor.” We chatted with Ziff over Zoom three weeks into the New York shelter-in-place order to discuss the ongoing mistreatment of women in the fashion industry FINDING JOY IN THE STORM I have been working alongside my mom who runs a sustainable brand, Orenda Tribe, to fundraise and organize direct aid to Navajo Nation and other indigenous communities that have been greatly affected by COVID. We organized an auction bringing together artists and makers to sell their work with 100 percent going directly towards food, basic necessities, PPE, and etc. to the tribe. A beret maker! ANOTHER TOMORROW'S RADICAL APPROACH TO LUXURY FASHION Vanessa Barboni Hallik, a former managing director at Morgan Stanley, did something radical: she created a luxury clothing brand made for women, by women on the condition that it would be truly sustainable and invested in transparency. THE ART OF BLOCK PRINTING “Block printing is the essence of slow fashion, with each part of the process done by hand,” Jeremy Fritzhand says. “I love that each part of the community specializes in a different part of the process, and everyone works together to create truly unique textileproducts.”

Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacobs is a designer, fashion activist, and organizer. I grew up in Trinidad, I didn’t grow up with a lot. My brother, sister, and I, we—if I had to put a label on how I grew up as a child—it would have probably been very low income. FINDING JOY IN THE STORM I have been working alongside my mom who runs a sustainable brand, Orenda Tribe, to fundraise and organize direct aid to Navajo Nation and other indigenous communities that have been greatly affected by COVID. We organized an auction bringing together artists and makers to sell their work with 100 percent going directly towards food, basic necessities, PPE, and etc. to the tribe. SARA ZIFF AND HER MODEL ALLIANCE In 2012, Ziff founded The Model Alliance, a non-profit research, policy, and advocacy organization to promote “fair treatment, equal opportunity, and sustainable practices in the fashion industry, from the runway to the factory floor.” We chatted with Ziff over Zoom three weeks into the New York shelter-in-place order to discuss the ongoing mistreatment of women in the fashion industry HOW DOES THE FASHION INDUSTRY WASTE WATER? Use gaffer tape to remove surface stains, spot clean with a little soapy water or spray it with vodka for those really stinky days. Wear the items more than once between washes, turn it inside out and air it overnight, invest in a steamer to give it a quick refresh. Also, instead of washing, try freezing your jeans. WHY ETHICAL AND SUSTAINABLE JEWELRY MATTERS With that in mind, here are our five tips for you to keep in mind when shopping for jewelry: 1. Look for certified Fairmined Ecological gold. Many conscious jewelers such as Melissa Joy Manning, Bario Neal, Mociun, and Monique Péan have turned to recycled gold in order to keep their jewelry clean and ethical. ANOTHER TOMORROW'S RADICAL APPROACH TO LUXURY FASHION Another Tomorrow’s Radical Approach to Luxury Fashion. Vanessa Barboni Hallik, a former managing director at Morgan Stanley, did something radical: she created a luxury clothing brand made for women, by women on the condition that it would be truly sustainable andinvested in
