PERSONAL RATE OF RETURN: DOLLAR WEIGHTED OR TIME WEIGHTED If we change the additional contribution on April 1 from $20,000 to $1,000 and have the end of year value at $13,000 instead of $32,000, the two returns would be much closer. The Dollar Weighted Rate of Return would be 18.6%, and the Time Weighted Rate of Return wouldstill be 20%.
