STUDENT PLACEMENTS
STUDENT WORK PLACEMENTS AND ASSIGNMENTS. 18 or under and still at school or college? This one week work placement during term time only is suitable for students in years 10, 11, 12 and 13 and studying at school or college. During the placement students will spend time in the gift shop, reception, cafe, education department, guiding within the exhibition and the offices.BEACH CLEANS
Beach Cleans. The Deep runs bi-annual beach cleans at Hessle Foreshore as part of the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) Beachwatch national beach cleaning programme in a bid to combat litter. Beachwatch is a nationwide annual beach clean-up and litter survey organised by the MCS which takes place on beaches all over the UK. PROJECT PENGUIN: SOUTH AFRICAN PENGUIN RESCUE A project led by Bristol Zoological Gardens was the second scheme to benefit from monies raised on an urgent project to rescue and reintroduce 750 penguin chicks in South Africa.. Every winter, hundreds of African penguin chicks are abandoned by their parents and rescued by a rehabilitation centre called The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB). TURTLE RESCUE AND REHABILITATION Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation. The Deep has been working in the USA to help save injured sea turtles at New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts. Here they rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of injured and sick sea turtles that get stranded on the shores near the aquarium every year.
