Japanese woodworker Toshifumi Momose resides in Shizuoka where he runs his project ‘Hikimonojo 639’ from a 150 year old Japanese farmhouse
OEN SHOP - DESIGN AND HANDCRAFTED GOODS OEN stocks a selection of contemporary homewares, from Japanese pottery to woodwork that are handmade by artisans and craftsmen. THE HILL COUNTRY JACAL BY LAKE FLATO ARCHITECTS We couldn't go a whole week without including a slice of architectural inspiration in the format, it just wouldn't feel right. So I've raided the archives of Texas based firm Lake Flato once again presenting this beautiful hill country home which is based upon a Mexican design concept called the Jacal. This type of construction is defined as a lean-to structure which is popular in hotter LANGEN FOUNDATION BY TADAO ANDO The exhibition building initiated by the collector Marianne Langen is situated on a former NATO base amidst a swath of Lower Rhine landscape in Germany. Tadao Ando visited the Rocket Station in 1994 and experienced its original state, enthusiastic about Müller’s plans Ando ended up developing an architectural model that was to becomeSHINOBU HASHIMOTO

A TIMELESS MESSAGE TO HUMANITY Aarno Ruusuvuori (1925-1992) was a lesser-known architect that he had in mind. With a lack of funds Ando supposedly walked 12 kilometres to get to Ruusuvuori’s Tapiola Church designed in 1965 just so he could experience the space in person. Quite a bold move that proved vital in his development as an architect. WITHOUT LOSING BALANCE Without Losing Balance – Ceramic Sculpture by Kaat Pauwels. There seems to be something innate in us that craves a sense of order. This strange universe we live in has a way of constantly reminding us that we are not in control, that the unexpected can happen at any time.
