SWEET POPPY SEED
Smoked Salmon Platter (No cook meal) January 9, 2021 by Valerie Leave a Comment. After a long day, the last thing I want to do is cook an elaborate meal. Days like this call for a deliciously simple Smoked Salmon Platter (No cook meal). The new nightly trend at our house recently is that the girls take turns not sleeping. CABIN WEEKEND BREAKFAST IDEAS (MAKE AHEAD, EASY OR NO-COOK Frittata or Egg Bake. Eggs are your friend on weekends away. Whipping up a frittata or egg bake loaded with veggies, meats and cheese is a power make ahead breakfast. Simply reheat in the morning and enjoy with bread and fruit. 2. Bring the Ingredients. CARROT AND POTATO CHEESE SAUCE Blend potatoes, carrots and the rest of the ingredients (minus the spice options) until creamy. Start with ¼ water and then check for desired consistency. Add harissa or chopped jalapenos for spice if desired and simply mix with a spatula. Serve as a dip for potatoes,chips or veggies.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare an 8" springform pan by buttering (or greasing with oil spray) sides and bottom very well. Beat sugar and eggs in a large bowl with a mixer until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, sift the flour and baking powder. TART CHERRY WALNUT TRAIL MIX Add coconut and toast for 2-3 minutes, mixing constantly. Be careful not to over toast the coconut as it can burn easily. Let coconut cool completely. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Store in a Ziploc bag or several mason jars. Or for portable easy eating, measure out 1/2 cup of the mix in snack baggies. 13 ACTIVITIES FOR CRAWLING BABIES Lately I feel like most activities or events out there are not great for crawling babies that don’t walk yet. But with a little creativity, you can keep your crawling little ones busy, entertained, and having lots of fun without breaking the bank for parents! My rambunctious little one is not ye ROASTED TOMATOES WITH CHEESE AND BASIL Instructions. Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread out tomato slices and drizzle each lightly with olive oil. Top each tomato with a layer of parmesan and then a layer or mozzarella. Add the chopped basil on top of each tomato. Sprinkle each slice with a pinch of salt and pepper. MAKE AHEAD KEY LIME PIE Let mixture sit aside at room temperature until thicken. For the graham cracker crust, preheat oven to 325F. Process the graham cracker into fine crumbs in a food processor or blender. In a bowl mix graham cracker crumbs and sugar together. Add melted butter, and mix well. SLOW COOKER SAUSAGE AND WHITE BEAN CASSOULET Set browned sausages aside. In a 6 quart slow cooker, place carrots and set the sausages on top. Cover the sausage with onion, garlic, thyme, cayenne if using, tomatoes, beans and chicken stock. Season with ½ teaspoon of salt. SURVIVING A ROAD TRIP WITH A TODDLER (UNDER 5 HOURS Last weekend we enjoyed a lovely weekend at Farfar’s (my father-in-law) up north. This means 3 hours in the car with a wiggly toddler. Luckily after lots of recent travel, we have learned what works and what doesn't. And ultimately what makes for a good roadtrip.
HEALTHY CHOCOLATE LENTIL MUFFINS Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Add cooked lentils and oil to a food processor and process until smooth. Add mashed banana, egg, sugar and vanilla. Pulse to combine. Add oats or oat flour, whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda and process until just mixed. Add chocolate chips if using and mix with a spatula to combine. SLOW COOKER SAUSAGE AND WHITE BEAN CASSOULET Set browned sausages aside. In a 6 quart slow cooker, place carrots and set the sausages on top. Cover the sausage with onion, garlic, thyme, cayenne if using, tomatoes, beans and chicken stock. Season with ½ teaspoon of salt. Cover slow cooker and cook until the beans are tender and creamy, on low for 7 – 8 hours or high for 4 – 5hours.
