This list is, by definition, highly subjective – these are my opinions and suggestions for where to begin and which performers I admire. BEAUTIFUL MUSIC IN DIFFICULT TIMES Music is a refuge. Music is a source of inspiration. Music has the power to comfort and minimize stress. Music connects us to one another and to faraway places and eras. In this stressful time, when we are being warned to practice “social distancing” I think about our need to #BeautifulMusicAHHH, BACH!

Sposalizio del Mare (Wedding of the Sea) has been celebrated for many centuries, and corresponds with the church's observance of Ascension Day. The ceremony involves a procession of boats, led by SINCE SINGING IS SO GOOD A THING… 1 The exercise of singing is delightful to Nature, and good to preserve the health of Man. 2 it does strengthen all parts of the breast, and does open the pipes. 3 it is a singularly good remedy for stuttering and stammering in the speech. 4 it is the best means to procure perfect pronunciation, and to make a good Orator.SUZANNE BONA
