1 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup fresh lime juice. Heat the oven to 325ºF. degrees. Break the heads of garlic apart, then mash each clove (a fist against the side of a knife is what I do) to release the clove from its papery skin; if using already-peeled garlic, scoop the cloves into a heavy plastic bag and use a rolling pin to mash them slightly. TOASTING BLACK PEPPERCORNS Pour the peppercorns into a dry heavy pan over medium heat, stir the peppercorns around the pan to get an even toasting. I didn't actually know how long to toast them. So, I used my baking sense to determine the time; when I could smell the peppery aroma, they were done. Move them to a small bowl and allow to cool. ZUCCHINI AND RED BELL PEPPER PASTA In a medium saute pan over medium heat, heat the olive oil then add the chopped onions. Cook until they begin to soften. Add the minced garlic, cook 1 to 2 minutes then finally add the zucchini and red bell pepper. Season with salt & pepper to taste. BRAN ENRICHED WHITE BREAD MADE AT HOME Sprinkle the loaf liberally with flour and slash parallel cuts across the loaf, using a serrated bread knife. Leave the flour in place for baking; tap some of it off before eating. Slide the loaf directly onto the hot stone. Pour 1 cup of hot tap water into the broiler tray, and quickly close the oven door. HOW TO COOK CANNELLINI BEANS Soak the beans in a large bowl of cold water overnight. Drain. Place the beans in a large sauce pan of water, bring to a boil, and cook for 20 minutes. Drain. KEEPING POPPED CORN FRESH After that, I will wash them with a pressure washer which I bought from unclutterer and then I handwash with hot soapy water, rinse off the soap, soak them in 1.5 teaspoons of bleach to 1/2 gallon of water for 2 minutes, then let them air dry in a sunny spot.
