The strengths of Günter Krämer’s Nabucco – here revived by Niv Hoffman – outweighs it weaknesses. However, I was left wondering by moments such as the Babylonians reflecting Abigaille’s image back at her with some mirrors in Act II (surely this doesn’t mean she is the girl we saw at the start?); later the toy theatre is set alight PRETTY YENDE AND JUAN DIEGO FLÓREZ BRING TO LIFE SIMON Vienna State Opera’s La traviata Act III final scene.
