RNI ALL FILMS 5 REVIEW So the All Films 5 set is a film inspired simulation that leaves a lot of room for personal interpretation. It has not been designed to closely match film and analog material. The variety of film stock is impressive and you can really make your images look like they were shot in the 1970s or earlier. SCANNING COLOR NEGATIVE FILM Steps. You need to import the just scanned DNG file into Lightroom. In order to get contrast and color right you also need to prepare the file for conversion. Make sure you don’t apply any changes to the file except for the mentioned steps here. So no presets or anything before the conversion. SCANNING NEGATIVE FILM WITH SILVERFAST THE MAGIC FUJI FRONTIER SP-3000 With the advent of digital those mini labs started to disappear. The demand of paper prints declined and the machines were sold or demolished. Today the SP-3000 is again getting more and more attention. It is the scanner part of the production line and it is capable of making awesome digital files. MAKING A DIGITAL BLACK & WHITE MASTER PRINT FROM AN ANALOG Digital made things easier, but still it can be regarded a mastery to skillfully make a digital master print file from an analog negative. This tutorial will show you in detail how to scan black and white medium format negatives and than process them in Adobe Lightroom like the old masters did itSCANNER BANDING
Scanner Banding or "how to deal with the staircase effect". A simple hardware solution that helps avoiding a phenomena called “scanner banding” or staircase effect that often occurs when using a flatbed scanner such as an Epson V700/V750 for negative scanning. Scanning has always been a love and hate relationship for me. HOW TO MAKE LINEAR SCANS WITH SILVERFAST 8.8 This is going to be a short post. In order to use SilverFast HDR Studio as an archival workflow solution as well as for a optimized FineArt workflow I find the idea of creating linear scans fascinating. What we basically do is splitting the workflow into two parts. Firstis
OPTIMUM RESOLUTION & SHARPENING SETTINGS FOR EPSON Here is a brief overview of the required steps to find the optimum resolution: Make a 48bit color HDR raw scan in SilverFast or a 48bit TIFF scan without any adjustments in any other scanner software for the following resolution settings 6400spi, 4800spi, 3200spi, 2400spi and 1800spi. Name the scans accordingly. MOUNTING MEDIUM FORMAT SCANS WITH LOMOGRAPHY DIGITALIZA The Lomography Digitaliza is a smart system. The Scanning Mask consists of three parts: the holder itself, a metal support that holds the film in place during mounting and a magnet cover that prevents the film from curling. When mounting film you need to remove the magnet first and than open the holder. Film can now be placed inside theholder.
