ABOUT US - SAMEYOU
The World Health Organisation (WHO) identifies rehabilitation as a substantial and ever-increasing unmet global need - but it's not an integrated part of health services. Neurorehabilitation is among the most neglected and underfunded. The Stroke Association reports that 45% of stroke survivors feel abandoned once they'd left hospital.JOIN US - SAMEYOU

SHARED EXPERIENCES
Shared Experiences. Studies have shown that there are psychological benefits to shared experiences which result in a number of positive influences on emotional wellbeing and connectedness. Since we launched, we've been lucky to have met some amazing people, whose voice, story and expertise will help many members of our growingcommunity.

This is an underestimate of the scale of the problem due to the lack of focus on brain injury. We believe neurorehabilitation equality must be achieved. SameYou stands up for what’s right for brain injury survivors and their families. By donating you can be part of thechange.
VIRTUAL INCA TRAIL
Emilia, Jenny and the rest of the SameYou team are going to walk, run and cycle 26 miles in a virtual challenge. We’re starting at the beginning of the Inca Trail and arriving at Machu Picchu. Take part by creating your own fundraising page and completing 26 miles by 30thSeptember 2020.

LACK OF REHABILITATION SERVICES CAUSES A SECOND TRAUMA FOR PEOPLE AFTER A BRAIN INJURY OR STROKE 50% of stroke survivors had sessions of therapy cancelled during Covid-19, and 56% said they did not feel safe to attend a scheduled session. Covid-19 numbers are set to rise again over the coming winter months, causing fear and uncertainty for many. Neurological issues as a result of Covid-19 have been noted in studies and the emergence of this new population of survivors who have significant, and potentially long-term, support needs will put further pressure on existing services.Watch the video

Rehabilitation is often the forgotten part of the care pathway – but it’s vital for achieving the best recovery. During COVID-19, we knew people with stroke and other brain injuries were spending less time in hospital receiving neurorehabilitation, and so wanted to find a way of helping community rehabilitation teams by offering additional online group based neurorehabilitation to people directlyin their own homes.
We have created a solution with N-ROL, and need your support tocontinue this work.
