SUPER WHY ROCKS!
Alex is watching some Saturday morning cartoons while I try to gain consciousness, and I saw a preview of a new show called Super WHY that looked pretty cool, so I found it on On Demand, and it's *great*. The animation is cool, the music is cool and it's *super* engaging. The munchkin is sitting on the couch yelling out words to help put them into sentences, and picking out "super letters" to HOW I LEARNED TO WRITE I recently read a blog post about someone who was having trouble figuring out how to write a 'good blog post', but really the author was stuck even getting started. Really, she wasn't having problems writing a *good* post, but with writing full-stop. It reminded of a lesson that I learned years ago while working at a small daily paper near where I grew up in New Hampshire. I'll warn you though BASKETBALL BOUNCINESS Spring has sprung in California, so I went up to Big5 and spent the princely sum of $1.25 for a needle to blow up my basketball, which has gone flat after, oh, a couple years of being completely ignored. But now, inspired by the weather and my non-stop weight gain lately, I've decided to go down and shoot around, and hopefully make it a habitagain.
KOALAS CONTROL THE WEATHER I'm pretty good at guessing plots of movies, but I have to say this one completely twisted my mind. Actually, if you had told me the entire plot in detail before hand, I still don't think I would have quite grasped what you were saying. I barely got it as the movie progressed as it was. That said, I liked it. Though I definitely think there wasn't nearly enough hints as to what was going on in ADULT THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING WALL-E The munchkin and I went to go see the matinee of WALL-E yesterday and it was pretty great! Definitely recommended for the whole family. If you haven't seen it, though, you probably don't want to read the rest of this post as I don't want to give any spoilers or take away from the innocent wonder of seeing the movie for the first time. We good?Okay.
WHAT'S ON MY NOKIA 6600/6620 I've gotten this request a few times lately, so it's time to write it up here, no? With my 3650 I was pretty experimental - I loaded up just about everything I found and kept a lot of stuff that may not have done me a whole hell of a lot of good. A few days ago I decided to stop updating Twitter with random thoughts. I turned to Facebook status updates as an outlet, but that seemed much more limited for some reason. That doesn't make sense as I was updating Facebook via my Twitter account before, so it should have been the same, but mentally it wasn't. This is a good thing, as now, a few days later, there's been a slow insatiable KOALAS CONTROL THE WEATHER I'm pretty good at guessing plots of movies, but I have to say this one completely twisted my mind. MERCURIAL VS Update June, 2011: This is a pretty old post that I wrote when I first learned about distributed revision control stuff. This page keeps getting traffic though, so I should say that I've since decided to use git because of the utility of github.com and the fact that the git guys cleaned up a lot of the 'wonky' bits I wrote about below making it a no-brainer. FUCK - RUSSELL BEATTIE I'm constantly amazed at people's reactions to the word "fuck" in my blog. They can watch HBO daily, and it's okay, but seeing it in a blog is somehow shocking! Wow, so here I am bitching about how the U.S. mobile telecom operators are clueless and not learning from the European model (i.e. receiving calls and SMS messages for free), and there's Virgin Mobile out there the whole time doing something pretty close. TETRIS SPLASH
Tetris Splash. Posted Thursday, March 20, 2008 1:43 pm. Since I exchanged my Wii for an XBox 360 last week, I've been happily playing "casual" Arcade games at night while listening to NPR on the radio. One of the best ones is also the most classic: Tetris. When I first got the 360 a couple years ago, one of the things I really wanted wasTetris

FUCK - RUSSELL BEATTIE I'm constantly amazed at people's reactions to the word "fuck" in my blog. They can watch HBO daily, and it's okay, but seeing it in a blog is somehow shocking!
The munchkin is sitting on the couch yelling out words to help put them into sentences, and picking out "super letters" to BASKETBALL BOUNCINESS Spring has sprung in California, so I went up to Big5 and spent the princely sum of $1.25 for a needle to blow up my basketball, which has gone flat after, oh, a couple years of being completely ignored. But now, inspired by the weather and my non-stop weight gain lately, I've decided to go down and shoot around, and hopefully make it a habitagain.
