The Rotary Club of Lae holds it’s Annual Charity Social Golf Day on Independence Day every year. Funds raised on the day go towards selected community projects which encompass a range of beneficial initiatives in the Health, Education and Social welfare spheres. The proposal to form a second Club in the City, meeting as an alternate club at night, was put to the Club by Past-President Dennis and accepted. Where is Lae? Lae, the capital of Morobe Province, is the second-largest city in Papua New Guinea. It is located at the start of the Highlands Highway which is the main land transport corridor from the Highlands region to the coast. Lae is the largest cargo port of the country and the home of the University of Technology or‘Unitech’.

Funds raised on the day go towards selected community projects which encompass a range of beneficial initiatives in the Health, Education and Social welfare spheres. After the previous efforts the Rotary Club of Lae approached its 25th Anniversary in 1985 with a wish to achieve something of note to mark the occasion. The proposal to form a second Club in the City, meeting as an alternate club at night, was put to the Club by Past-President Dennis and accepted. The club hosts an annual fund-raising Black Tie Ball every year. This event is a fantastic way of treating customers, staff, or just yourselves, partners and friends to a fabulous night out.
