BUILD A HYDRO GENERATOR Build your own water-powered electrical generator with plastic spoons! With the re-energy.ca construction plan, you use plastic spoons and other simple supplies to build a model of a simple micro-hydro system. Your model will generate a surprising amount of electricity, providing you have a supply of pressurized water, such as from a lab sink. BUILD A WIND TURBINE Live. •. Use the re-energy.ca construction plan to build your own wind turbine. The plan provided here will construct a vertical axis wind turbine, modelled after a design invented by the Finnish engineer S.J. Savonius in 1922. The Savonius rotor uses drag — not lift — to capture energy for making electricity.BUILD A SOLAR OVEN
To harness the sun as a source of energy, we need to convert it from visible light into heat or electricity. Use the re-energy.ca construction plan to build your own solar oven that really cooks! You can also use our plan to design your own and consult the many other models provided in the Links. Canadian classes can enter their solaroven in
BUILD A BIOGAS GENERATOR The energy stored in biomass can be released by burning the material directly, or by feeding it to micro-organisms that use it to make biogas, a form of natural gas. People have been using biogas for more than 200 years. In the days before electricity, biogas was drawn from the underground sewer pipes in London and burned in street lamps, which

BUILD A BIOGAS GENERATOR The energy stored in biomass can be released by burning the material directly, or by feeding it to micro-organisms that use it to make biogas, a form of natural gas. People have been using biogas for more than 200 years. In the days before electricity, biogas was drawn from the underground sewer pipes in London and burned in street lamps, which
BUILD A SOLAR OVEN
To harness the sun as a source of energy, we need to convert it from visible light into heat or electricity. Use the re-energy.ca construction plan to build your own solar oven that really cooks! You can also use our plan to design your own and consult the many other models provided in the Links. Canadian classes can enter their solaroven in
BUILD A WIND TURBINE Live. •. Use the re-energy.ca construction plan to build your own wind turbine. The plan provided here will construct a vertical axis wind turbine, modelled after a design invented by the Finnish engineer S.J. Savonius in 1922. The Savonius rotor uses drag — not lift — to capture energy for making electricity.
