The Eco Centre is a self-sorting, drop-off facility where residents can take items to be recycled including electronics, hazardous waste, car batteries, k-cups, lightbulbs etc. The Eco Centre is also a convenient solution for when your blue or green carts are full or when items won’t fit in your cart. OKOTOKS RECREATION CENTRE OFFERS NEW SUMMER PASS IN 2021 The Okotoks Recreation Centre is offering a new Open for Summer Recreation pass this year. This year’s program will allow patrons to purchase a pass for the summer that is valid until September 5. The fee for the pass is set at $1 per day and the total cost will be determined from the day the pass is purchased. For example, if a pass is purchased on July 2 the total fee for the summer INTRODUCTION TO SITE LICENSING The site license for development is a single approval provided by the Town of Okotoks to a building permit applicant at the start of a residential or non-residential project. The site license provides business licensing on a project basis, for the duration of the project, saving on the costs and time associated with licensing of each individual sub-contractor and trade working on the project GARDENING & HORTICULTURE Gardening & Horticulture. The Healthy Okotoks Coalition operates the Community Garden at Kinsmen Park at the east end of McRae Street. Raised garden beds are available for residents to grow their own produce. The gardens are pesticide-free, and there are 56 individual plots. A $30 fee is charged to cover the cost of water.TREE PLANTING

Long-range plans and other policy documents, including area structure plans for different neighbourhoods and various overarching regional strategies, support the community in achieving its economic, community and environmental sustainability objectives. UTILITY ACCOUNTS & RATES When it comes to water utility rates the philosophy is straight forward— the more you use, the more you pay. View the breakdown of the rates and fees, broken out into consumption tiers, in the Utility Rates tab below. TOWN OF OKOTOKS ANNUAL EVENTS There is something happening in Okotoks all year long. With a wide variety of special, community family-oriented events Okotoks is a great place to live, play and visit. Visit the Community Event Calendar to find out when each of these annual events is happening.RESIDENTIAL PERMITS
A development permit is required for most forms of development within the Town. The Land Use Bylaw outlines the types of development allowed in each land use district and the rules and regulations governing those uses. Not all proposed development requires a development permit. Smaller sheds, fences and decks may not require a developmentpermit.
COUNCIL AND COMMITTEES OF COUNCIL MEETINGS Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. If the Monday is a statutory holiday, the meeting is usually held on the following Tuesday. Only one meeting per month is held in July, August, and December. Regular Council meetings begin with an In Camera session followed by the public portion. OKOTOKS ARTS AND LEARNING CAMPUS We are a member of the Marigold Library System and a part of the resource sharing mechanism of TRAC which is Alberta wide.
