Save the Date: Oakland Park’s 15th Annual Oktoberfest Presented by Funky Buddha October 4-6 at Jaco Pastorius Park Mark your calendars for Oakland Park’s 15th Annual Oktoberfest, presented by Funky Buddha Brewery the first weekend of October (4-6). This highly-anticipated event complements the Downtown Culinary Arts District with Bavarian-style food and beer, served in the traditional Oktoberfest Biergarten. Entertainment will include live German music performed by the Alpine Express band and Sepp Diepolder, a master yodeler, zither and accordion player. Authentic dance performances by the Edelweiss and Auerhahn Schuhplattlers are also on the schedule. In addition to all the delicious German food, beer and music, exciting field games and activities, such as stein races, beer barrel races, apple strudel eating contests and other fun will be scheduledall weekend long.
Visit the Oktoberfest Shoppers' Market, where two dozen talented artists, crafters & culinary artisans will offer something to satisfy everyone. This family-friendly event will have amusement rides and a Children’s Activity Corner, to keep the youngsters entertained. Oakland Park Oktoberfest also features the Central Bark Dachshund Dash, where thousands of South Floridians come to watch and cheer on dozens of the adorable stubby-legged dogs racing against each other. The Dachshund Dash will take place Saturday, October 5th. Registration for the Dachshund Dash closes one week prior to the event. Back by popular demand, the Oakland Park Oktoberfest Doggie Fashion Show, presented by Central Bark, will take place Sunday, October 6th.
