NUCLEAR MEDICINE BOARD REVIEW COURSES Taking a board exam is a challenge, whether it be the initial certification or the recertification exam. One has to memorize and process a lot of information in a short period of time. Both parties agree that Nuclear Medicine is in the state of decline. 2. They both also agree that future NM practitioners should be certified by both ABR and ABNM. Future for NM looks good due to advent of hybrid techniques andtheranostics. 3.
PET-CT IMAGING
Preparation for the PET-CT scan Fasting for a minimum of six to eight (6-8) hours (preferably overnight) is absolutely essential. In addition, a low carbohydrate (bread, potatoes, pasta, beans, rice, sugar, sweets) and high protein (meat, milk products, cheese, nuts, Atkin’s) diet the day before imaging helps in improving the imagequality.
