NJDEP DIVISION OF FISH & WILDLIFE Division of Fish and Wildlife personnel use an integrated approach to managing New Jersey's black bear population, fostering coexistence between people and bears. The most common bear problem New Jersey's residents experience is black bears getting into their garbage. Bears are attracted to neighborhoods by garbage odors, so properly securing NJDEP DIVISION OF FISH & WILDLIFE The final component of the NJ Hunter Education Program is the Field Day. The day has two portions: the field session and the written exam. Doors open for Class Registration about ½ hour before class start time. Students 16 years of age or younger must be accompanied byparent or guardian.
