At the 2021 Rural Summit, the NC Rural Center announced the launch of the North Carolina Small Business Coalition and its accompanying policy agenda, North Carolina’s New Small Business Plan. The policy agenda was crafted by the Rural Center’s Small Business Policy Task Force, a bipartisan, statewide panel of small-business owners, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurship advocates. CAPITAL ACCESS PROGRAM Effective December 31, 2019, the Capital Access Program has been suspended and no further loans will be accepted for enrollment. The agreements in place with existing partner lenders remain in force, and claims under those agreements may be made using this claim form.. It has always been about rural people and rural places. What the Rural Center does today is rooted in the Center’s history. The NC Rural Center opened its doors in 1987, with the vision of an improved quality of life for all rural North Carolinians. In the 1990s, we developed a roadmap of strategies addressing challenges facing ruralcommunities.
CAPITAL ACCESS PROGRAM Effective December 31, 2019, the Capital Access Program has been suspended and no further loans will be accepted for enrollment. The agreements in place with existing partner lenders remain in force, and claims under those agreements may be made using this claim form.. The Capital Access Program (CAP) is available through partner lenders in all 100 North Carolina counties. NC RURAL CENTER FORMS TASK FORCE TO SUPPORT SMALL With the support of a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the NC Rural Center has launched a Small Business Policy Task Force, led by a group of entrepreneurs, small-business advocates, and policymakers all dedicated to empowering North Carolina’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through direct policy engagement and action. The NC Rural Center has played a central role in the state’s disaster recovery for many years and continues to do so now. Through their partnerships with Thread Capital, Golden LEAF Foundation, SBTDC, BLNC, and SBCN, the NC Rural Center has been able to gather financial resources, help disseminate information, host disaster recovery centers for the SBA, and as recently as Hurricane Florence STEP FOR SMALL BUSINESS STEP for Small Business focuses the community economic development efforts of small towns on entrepreneurship and small business development through community coaching, technical assistance, leadership training, and capital formation.
