MY FOOD STORY
Hi There! I’m Richa, the cook, writer and photographer behind this little blog. I’ve grown up in the kitchen along side my mum and grandmothers and conversations in my family are always about the next meal. I’ve picked up their love for food along the way, and with this blog, I share my food story with you. CREAMY CHICKEN MEATBALLS IN MUSHROOM SAUCE Add the mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute to get rid of the raw flour flavor. Slowly add the chicken broth and keep whisking continuously till the sauce thickens. Stir in the rosemary, parsley, paprika, salt, pepper and meatballs. Add a little more stock or water if the sauce is too thick. CRISPY TOFU BROCCOLI STIR FRY Heat oil in the same pan and once its hot, add garlic and ginger. Saute for a minute and add the broccoli florets. Cook them for a minute and pour the sauce into the pan. Stir fry for a minute or two on high heat to let the sauce thicken and then add the tofu. Quicklytoss
PERFECT JEERA RICE (INDIAN CUMIN RICE) Heat ghee in a pot and add the whole spices and cumin seeds to it. Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add the chopped green chilli and drained rice to it. Saute the rice in the pan for two minutes on a medium flame. This helps add more flavor to the rice. Add two cups water and salt to the rice and mix well. SLOW COOKER CHICKEN CURRY Saute for 3-4 minutes till the onions soften. Transfer this mixture to the slow cooker along with all the other ingredients. Mix well. Cover and cook on high for 3.5-4 hours or low for 6 hours. Once the chicken curry is cooked, mix in the chopped coriander and serve hot on top of steamed rice or with some butter naan. STRAWBERRY POKE CAKE (FROM SCRATCH) This strawberry poke cake is made from scratch and is a soft, moist jello poke cake that is topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. It has the taste of strawberries in every bite and is the perfect easy, elegant dessert! SOAKING BEANS 101: HOW TO SOAK BEANS AND WHY Let the beans cook without a lid for about 5-6 minutes. Turn off the heat and cover the vessel. Leave it for about an hour, drain the water, and use the beans. Alternatively, place beans in a container, top with boiling water, stir in a teaspoon of salt (salt helps with the absorption of liquid) and cover it tightly with a lid. PRESSURE COOKER BEEF BOURGUIGNON (INSTANT POT RECIPE) Pressure cook on Manual for 40 minutes. Once the stew is cooked, release the pressure manually. In a bowl whisk together cornflour and 1/4 cup water. Turn on the saute function and stir in the cornflour mixture. Simmer for 5-7 minutes till the stew thickens. Stir in the bacon and serve this pressure cooker beef bourguignon over mashedpotatoes.

INSTANT POT GARLIC MASHED POTATOES (PRESSURE COOKER RECIPE) Instructions. In an Instant Pot add potatoes, garlic, water, salt and one and a half tablespoons butter. Put the lid on, turn the valve to sealing and cook on manual high pressure for 8 minutes. (My Instant Pot took 10 minutes to come to pressure, so the total time taken was 18 minutes). In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients listed under marinade (flour, cornflour, ginger garlic paste, soy sauce, chilli sauce, chilli powder, pepper powder and egg) and add chicken. Set aside for 15 minutes to an hour. Heat oil for deep frying in TERIYAKI SHRIMP BROCCOLI STIR FRY (READY IN 30 MINS) Instructions. Mix together all the ingredients under sauce and set aside. Heat half the oil in a wok or pan, and add the chopped garlic. Saute for a minute and add shrimp. Stir fry the shrimp on high heat for 2-3 minutes till it starts turning pink. Add the broccoli HOW TO MAKE BUTTERMILK FOR BAKING The process is really simple – mix the acid in the milk and then let it sit for 10 minutes till you see the milk curdling, and curds forming. There, your buttermilk is ready! Pour milk into a jar. Add vinegar or lime juice. Mix well and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. The milk curdles and homemade buttermilk is ready. HEALTHY SPINACH POTATO VEGGIE FRITTATA IN A CAST IRON Instructions. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius. Place the wire rack in the center of the oven.
